Iām with you. I donāt care to fight either. Iām just saying the āEVs cost too muchā line is nonsense and the āthe range is too short for most peopleā is also nonsense.
Like I said, for most people, 250 miles is more than enough range, and most people with trucks donāt use them like trucks and would have their needs met with a <$30k EV, and they would being paying a fraction of fuel and maintenance costs.
Everything you said is valid- for some people. I am talking about most people. Average daily miles driven per vehicle in TX is under 50. https://www.policygenius.com/auto-insurance/average-miles-driven-by-state/
I assume you mean a Ford Lightning, and you do know that there are other EVs besides that model, right? I mean, if you read my reply to you, you can see that Chevy Bolts are less than 30.
Alberta? TF are you talking about? Anyways, you've already demonstrated your lack of EV knowledge, and since that hasn't stopped you from continuing on about EVs, I am just going to go ahead an ignore ya. Later gater.
Much as you might try, you cannot possibly know my intent. Here, perhaps this will make it easier to understand: The other person said that one possible reason for rural folks not buying EVs was the price. First of all, his quoted figure of $70k is just flat out stupid and wrong. But...
The point was not comparing the vehicles, the point was that the rural folks living closer to the poverty line have no problem spending big bucks on vehicles. And saying "maybe 150 miles" kind of demonstrates your lack of knowledge in this topic. It would be like if someone came in and said...
Fair point on the winter range. In Minnesota and similar climates range will be down 130-180ish miles. But I regularly get 245-260 mile range with 99% 75mph highway driving during the warmer 8 months of the year.
As a rural living EV driver, I can say that yep you are correct about rural fast chargers being hard to find.
However, that is not what is holding up rural adoption. Given current ranges of EVs, 250 miles average, the vast vast majority of people can charge at home just fine.
Edit: Holy shit...
