I bought these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084C382VB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1
They fit well and came in at around $100. The floor mats that came with the seat covers are junk, barely better than OEM matts.
I feel your frustration! I had the same problem the first couple of times I towed my Mav. To clear the error, disconnect the negative battery cable (battery is under the rear seat, use a 10mm wrench). When reconnected the truck should be "reset" to normal condition. Take a good look at the...
Donziman,
Chalmers Ford fixed the steering problem and no issues with that. I bought a NAPA flooded cell battery when we got stranded in Wilcox, AZ and have not had any meaningful battery issues. I charged the OEM battery and load tested it. It tested good so I saw no need to go through the...
I had the dealer install the paint protection film on my 2023 XLT Hybrid. I think it was a bit over $500 that was just added onto the price of the truck. At the time I ordered the truck, the protective film was a constraint item and the sealer said they could install it. I tow the Mav behind my...
I installed a Roadmaster baseplate and use a Roadmaster All Terrain towbar. If I were to do it again I would use a Demco baseplate. The Roadmaster requires removal of the lower active air shutter whereas the Demco does not.
My 2023 Atlas Blue Hybrid XLT turned 1 year old on Oct. 2. I bought the little truck to tow behind my motorhome. I needed something that would carry all of the "stuff" we need to take as well as comfortably fit 4 adults. The truck meets those needs nicely. The truck now has 3,360 miles on the...
Boots update: I have passed Boots on to the proud owner of a Cactus Grey XLT I saw in the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum parking lot in Hatteras, NC.
I printed a short note to inform the new holder of Boots that it is a traveling Maverick that should be passed on. Also included a link to this...
I doubt that I will ever find out who left Boots on my windshield. Most National Parks campgrounds have a large number of 1 night campers, so no way of knowing.
BTW, there was some comments about people sneaking around campsites, the truck was parked in front on my motorhome parallel with the...
I think the term "Maverick" was used to refer to unbranded livestock, in particular cattle. Ranchers would roundup unbranded cattle to add to their herds. Later the term was used to label anything or anyone that didn't follow the norm - marched to different drummer type thing. Not sure how/why...
Passing it on is a great idea! I think I'll record the place and date on it and pass it on. We have a trip planned to the Outer Banks, NC next month, maybe I'll see a Mav there
We are camping in SW Colorado at Morefield CG in Mesa Verde NP. Yesterday morning I found the little gift placed in a zip lock bag stuck under a windshield wiper.
We thought it was cute and appreciated.
Yes. Door open and follow procedure = error, close door (it's about 2000 degrees in there after towing several hundred miles in eastern Oregon,) follow procedure = happy truck. Also removing RVIBrake with door open caused the error, seems contrary since RVIBrake depresses the brake pedal during...
Turns out the truck is super sensitive to the NT disengage procedure. You must climb in, close the door. turn the key to ACC, fully depress the brake pedal, and shift the gear selector to P. At that point it will display "Neutral Tow Disengaged" and the truck is happy. Any deviation or extra...
Follow-up to my original post:
Looks like my Mav is fixed (jinx??). We completed a 13 day 3000 mile trip with no issues. Round trip, ABQ to central Oregon coast with many stops lots of curves and turns. In addition I have conquered the Neutral Tow Disengaged problem; turns out the truck is very...
Got my Mav back this afternoon. 2 weeks to the day to perform 3 recalls and replace the Steering Column Assembly (twice!). Will soon be testing it as we have a 3000 mile trip planned in a few days. Hoping my love/hate relationship with the truck turns back to being love only :)
Original post update: the service advisor just called to inform me the new steering column assembly that was to be shipped overnight from Colorado to New Mexico is in transit. I told him yesterday I did not believe they would get the part today. He admitted I was right. Now seems that the...
