  1. Recommendation: use a hitch extender for bike rack

What exactly are you bringing camping that won’t fit in the bed with your bike? My bike takes up 6ā€x54ā€ out of the 53ā€x54ā€ bed, or 11% of bed space. I’ve never went camping with my bed 90% full and thought, ā€œnope, space to fit a bike in here.ā€šŸ¤£
  2. Recommendation: use a hitch extender for bike rack

Exactly. Hitch mounted bike rack kills departure angle. That is why I use a tailgate pad. Off-roading ability is unhindered.
  3. CV Axle Replacement DIY How-To (and upgrade to Tremor CV)

It’s was rude for you to steer him to other MTC posts that have covered the topic of hybrid axles, rather than for you to look up those posts yourself, then type out a lengthy answer that summarizes all of the information he is looking for. 🤣
  4. Maverick SOS: 14K Miles, Serious AWD issue.

Very interesting. So the ā€œbinding upā€ is from AWD always being active because the PTU clutch pack won’t disengage? If that was the case, the clutch pack in the RDU should also be disengaged, preventing AWD from being always on.
  5. New Wheels & Tires Installed – Wildpeak AT Trails on Black Rhino Boxers šŸ”„

Interesting. I’ve never heard of a 245/65r17 rubbing before, hybrid or otherwise. Personally, I run a 255/65r17 Wildpeak on the FX4 wheel and get no rubbing.
  6. MUSLOGY GIVEAWAY + NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH – 2025 Ford Maverick Dash Tray!

How many percent of the passenger side frontal airbag does this cover up? And if the airbag launches this into your face at 80 mph, is it soft enough that it won’t cause facial fractures? And is there any way to secure loose metal items in the tray, like keys and coins, so that they don’t...
  7. Is anyone else having issues with rock chips?

Nope, no rock chips. I’ve owned my Maverick for a little over a year and it has zero rock chips. My biggest problem with the Maverick is that it seems like the AGM battery is dead almost every time I go to use it.
  8. Lobo - Extreme Noise: It's Fixed

What kind of noises are talking about? Wind noise? Tire noise? Chassis noise? Engine NVH?Exhaust noise? I know there was a big ruckus about pre-2025 mavericks and how xl’s and xlt’s had way more engine bay noise, wind noise and tire noise than the Lariats did. The consensus was that it was...
  9. 2025 Hybrid AWD lifted on 245/70R17

The above referred to 245/65R17’s are 29.5ā€ in diameter. There are 3 larger sizes that you can go to without rubbing, and one size, with rubbing, before you get to the 245/70R17’s overall 30.8ā€ diameter: 235/70R17’s are 30.0ā€ diameter. 255/65R17’s are 30.1ā€ diameter. 225/75R17’s are 30.3ā€...
  10. Maverick Tremor performance in deep sand - OBX Hatteras

My Maverick does just fine in soft sand. I used to have a 2D Silverado 2500 gasser with 33x12.5R18 Nitto mud grapplers and it didn’t go nearly as well in soft sand in 4-low as my Maverick does.
  11. 2.5L Hybrid - Change to 5W-30 oil

Exactly this! I came back to this thread to post a link to this video, but you beat me to it. A great point that he brings up is that manufacturers are not running 0w-20 oil because they are legally required to by CAFE standards, as multiple people in this thread have claimed. Running 0w-40...
  12. Running nonstandard oil?

The problem with the GM engine failures is with GM engineering, not with the oil. Toyota has the best engine reliability record and they have been running 0w-20 for 25 years.
  13. After months of searching for lightweight RV... Coachmen Clipper Express 9.0TD

You’d need to call your local dealer. The trailer GVWR is 3500. They need to have brakes on it to sell them in 41 of the 50 states. But in Texas, the law states that you need brakes over 4500 gvwr. Its depends on if it is cheaper to make them all the same for all 50 states, or cheaper to not...
  14. Safety and Self-Help Gear, what do you carry in your Maverick?

I know you said first aid kit, but I don’t see anything that looks like a first aid kit in the pics. I recommend going with a high skill level first aid kit. Even if you don’t have the skill to use the equipment in a trauma kit, there’s many times when doctors, nurses and EMT’s show up at the...
  15. A Maverick is now towing the iconic tram car on the Wildwood Boardwalk

On the yellow tractor to pull the tram, the article says it is electric. If it is electric, it doesn’t need to be geared down that much, since electric motors make peak torque at zero rpm. On the Maverick, there’s no torque converter, so engine power isn’t getting converted into friction/heat...
  16. A Maverick is now towing the iconic tram car on the Wildwood Boardwalk

Exactly! Using a Maverick to pull this is completely unsafe. Imaging trying to do emergency braking at 70 mph with all that weight. The Maverick’s tires and brakes would be completely inadequate. Having a setup like this, using a maverick as the tow vehicle, would only be safe at really low...
  17. Pushed the towing limits

In the unibody discussion, a lot of people are getting hung up on whether the car has a frame, making it body on frame, or if it has a one piece body, making it unibody. But the designation is really coming from what the part is creating the structural rigidity, the crash worthiness and the...
  18. Pushed the towing limits

Maybe you should write to the editors at Hagerty and let them know that they don’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to classic and collectible cars. šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚ And I’m not sure why you can’t figure out where that information came from. The image shows the web address and I posted a...
