C'mon, by accident the Mav will sell more than the Brat ever dreamed of. However, you're partially correct the Mav will fall into being a ubiquitous unremarkable vehicle that you see everyday like the Ranger is/was.
I'm not sure how Ford can count a vehicle as sold until it is in fact sold unless we're talking about fleet sales maybe. It's best to assume that both mfr's are using similar calculation methods.
