The benefit is getting your car. If you went for a EB order in January last year instead of waiting for a hybrid this year, you saved $2200 on MSRP for the XL, so the first 6-7 years of that $333 is covered. No guarantee we don’t see the same in 2024. Assign the financial value as you see fit...
Dang the black and orange looks good. That’s going to be real popular with high school baseball players in the Bay Area, if it’s ever readily available and/or in the used market.
It’s $333/year for the benefits people get for ordering EB. It’s not like it’s the exact same vehicle and some people are choosing to spend $333/year plus the costs of packages for no reason. Between AWD, towing, and being likelyto receive your Maverick, it’s pretty easy for plenty of people to...
Does their executive VP for NA discussing Toyota producing a compact truck on their unibody platform, and hinting they’ll have something for their show in 2023 not count as a shred of evidence? https://www.motortrend.com/news/toyota-compact-pickup-truck-under-consideration/amp/
Bingo. I ordered a Lariat Hybrid and was second in a mid size dealer and I doubt I get my order. I tossed in the CP360 since I figured it’s a coin toss at best anyways, so may as well go for the one extra I care about. While the XL is tempting as a bargain, I figured it was going to take the...
Assuming you ordered a Hybrid for both, take your 22 and be happy. Prices are higher for 2023, and odds are most hybrids ordered aren’t built - let alone the ones with Lux & 360. If I had the option to cancel my 2023 order for your 22 Hybrid, I’d take it in a heartbeat and I bet the vast...
I think from release, Tremor was at least partially seen as a way to skip ahead in line. The rollover offer didn't apply to it and it doesn't mix with the hybrid drivetrain. Once you add in the fact orders were such a struggle, I'm confident you're right.
The COVP / ROVP thing still confused me. I’ve heard too many conflicting opinions on if it’s required, if they meant COVP when they said ROVP, if ROVP is required, etc.
Eh I wouldn't be surprised. I knew I was entering a lottery, and with how many orders were day 1 and 2, I doubt first come first serve carries much weight (outside of rollovers). Fingers crossed I picked a dealership that gets a decent allocation but probably unlikely.
I mean the fact that 70% or whatever of orders are already hybrid shows which way this would go. The EB is a great option but hybrid is overwhelmingly popular even without additional options.
I have my order in, but was just listening to yesterdays stream with Tim and heard him mention it as a potential issue. I just moved to a new state (Utah) and haven't updated my license yet, and doubt I would get a new one by October 5th, even if I started the process today. If it is an issue...
The gas/hybrid, trim, package, and commodity breakdown of constraints was all related to commodity constraints. The different parts for a hybrid vs EB drivetrain is as much a commodity as the seats in an XL vs XLT or the number of splash guards purchased.
"With the supply chain constraints...
Ford released it with the constraints, so it's what they see themselves producing regardless of how orders come in. They know what contracts/materials they've secured to get parts produced over the next year. If they've only secured enough to produce 35% hybrid, it doesn't matter if 100% of...
I think this is a safe assumption, admittedly not knowing their production plan. My rough guess is they plan to produce 35% hyrbids each month and 65% EB each month, to keep part purchasing even across the year.
If we pretend they took 120k orders and plan to produce 120k in a year for easy...
So far in this poll, the XLT hybrid looks like the least over-ordered trim for Hybrids at a 60/40 vs Lariat (65/35) and XL (75/25). It'll be interesting to see how they handle production planning, and if we see a disproportionate amount of higher profit Hybrids produced, despite demand pointing...
I wonder what the breakdown for hybrid/gas is for the rollover orders. If it’s 100% hybrid for rollovers, then there’s a chance the new orders would have needed an 20/80 hybrid/gas just to balance it out.
