  1. Remaining Unscheduled MY2023 Maverick Orders = 77,800. List of Current Constraints

I removed my hitch, so one less person to fight against for everyone who still has the stand-alone on their order.
  2. Remaining Unscheduled MY2023 Maverick Orders = 77,800. List of Current Constraints

The fact all those packages are short on demand is at least partially just people worrying about constraints and keeping it as simple as possible. Ford’s just costing themselves some money on that front.
  3. What's Ford's process for picking order to build?

Neither of those would actually make sense. Producing all of the Tremors up front means needing a giant order of tremor specific materials up front followed by nothing, instead of a more consistent production that’s easier for planning. I don’t know the specific reason, but based on the lack of...
  4. OFFICIAL MEMO: 2022 Maverick Hybrid order cancellations and automatic transition to 2023MY

Do we know if they’re trying to keep the schedule for the new orders? It sounds like they need to be done November 30th, so will the ones scheduled in December be produced then? It seems like they’re currently allocated, so I would imagine they get produced if ready.
  5. If they made a full EV Maverick, would you buy, switch? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Brown outs and planned reduction have been the usual in California since before EVs were relevant. Don't blame EVs for the shitshow that is PG&E.
  6. Moving on....

Good choice and congrats on the new car! I'm sure plenty of us have a back up plan or two if Ford can't produce it quick enough. If I can't get mine by early 2024, a Chevy Equinox EV is the current game plan.
  7. 2023 Escape vs Maverick display screen šŸ˜–

Let’s be real, if they offered this it’d be buried in the Lux package or 360 Assist at an increased price and end up causing an even tighter constraint on it.
  8. Start of Production for 2023 Maverick will now begin on November 23

Dang what combo is up $5k? That’s a bummer of an increase.
  9. Order Banks hours opened compared to build days! Yikes

You sound like someone who took high school stats and thinks that is the way the world works. Have you ever worked with a heuristic? You want an estimate of when your truck is being built, and you have the information available on the web. The simple approximation OP came up with is if we...
  10. Order Banks hours opened compared to build days! Yikes

You’re trying to make something statistically that isn’t pretending to be anything more than a back of the napkin estimate. It’s simply a rough way to put the date/time of order into some sort of context, which is better than having no idea of what it means. We all know there’s a bunch of...
  11. Episode 62: Will Your Scheduled 2022 Ford Maverick Get Canceled or Built?

Have they mentioned anything about if these delays are supply constraints or production capacity constraints?
  12. Update: 2023 Maverick scheduling starts October 20. [Current key constraints: Hybrid, splash guards]

Yup, and I'm one of those people. I'm not a rollover so I'm probably not under any sort of consideration, but if it's still a holdup come late December I'll definitely drop it.
  13. Update: 2023 Maverick scheduling starts October 20. [Current key constraints: Hybrid, splash guards]

Agreed on that, I think any AWD/4K need it. I’m mostly just thinking the people who are like I’m XL/XLT and hitch is my only add.
  14. Need opinions. (yeah, I know... opinions are like ______, everyone has one)

You’re entitled to an opinion, but there’s a difference between knowledge and an opinion. In this case, you can actually see the price to buy a new battery online so you don’t need an opinion. Using a Ford Escape as an option, it’s about $4100...
  15. Need opinions. (yeah, I know... opinions are like ______, everyone has one)

While we are questioning numbers, let’s hit another. First, EVs are the least likely cars to catch fire per a questionable survey that people use to say hybrids burn at a crazy high rate (~3.5% of hybrids burn each year). If we assume it’s right, EVs burn a <2% the rate of ICE, which burn at...
  16. Need opinions. (yeah, I know... opinions are like ______, everyone has one)

Holy shit what biased videos are saying the cost of replacing an electric battery is $30k+? It takes 30 seconds of googling to find Esape Hybrid battery replacements are like $3k-$6k. Even replacing a Tesla battery is $12k-$20k depending on the model. Are we just assuming every hybrid and EV is...
  17. Update: 2023 Maverick scheduling starts October 20. [Current key constraints: Hybrid, splash guards]

Is anyone going to drop the Trailer Hitch Receiver? If Ford Auth is right and it’s a constraint, it feels like a good way to try to sneak in. Given most of us probably included it since it’s only a hundred bucks from the factory, and much more expensive to add later.
  18. New Chevy Trax 2024 priced at 21,495

I can see it being a competitor to the Civic, RAV4, and CRV, so it's clearly some competition for the Maverick as that's it's top conquests. The price is great, but I think the gas mileage is where it falls short for most Maverick people. Most EB buyers are probably committed to the truck side...
  19. Update: 2023 Maverick scheduling starts October 20. [Current key constraints: Hybrid, splash guards]

And the people here waiting should hope Toyota announces their competitor tomorrow to curb some of the Maverick demand. It would mean Ford people get theirs earlier, and the RAV4/CRV converts get something they like more. Easy win/win.
