For real! I just went on lunch break and drove literally 1 mile down the road which took 5 minutes. Mostly level ground. Trip reading was 16 mpg. On the way back after lunch, the identical trip reading was 52 mpg. I swearā¦youāre better off not even paying attention to your gas mileage with...

Iāve noticed the same phenomenon with Maverick mpg claims that Iāve noticed with fishermenās claims of their catches. Always a little embellishment. Or info left out. For example youāll see a person bragging with a huge stringer of 15 fish but they donāt tell you they...
I get that 50 mpg on occasion. But only when the temp is above 70 degrees, Iām not using AC or heat or wipers, and when the car has already been used that day beforehand and has lots of charge built up. Otherwise when itās cold outside, and the engine has been sitting since prior day, and Iām...
What numbers is everyone getting on their mpg when they drive very short trips for less than 10 min, starting with a COLD ENGINE when vehicle has been left overnight? It seems that the hybrid Mavs donāt really kick into their efficient status until at least 10 minutes. This is how long my drive...
1/8 increments. There are 4 large notches with each one having a position directly on it and one in between it. So each position of the meter drops 1/8.
I definitely prefer the old setup for the instrument cluster on models 2024 and prior. It seems that somehow they made the screen bigger on 2025 and yet showed less useful information or no information at all. Again, I donāt mean to complain. Itās not a massive deal. Just a small annoying quirk.
Thatās great mileage. Since the majority of my driving is either 80+ mph, or less than 35 mph for very short trips, I get the worst average mpg possible. After 2k miles my meter is reading 37.5 mph but actual calculated mpg is 35.5. Still great for a truck. But itās a shame I rarely drive in...
On the power meter at left of instrument cluster, I already know the gray/white bar above zero means youāre using ICE engine, and the blueish bar above zero means youāre using electric. But sometimes there is a gray/white bar above zero which has a greenish portion beneath it with a distinct...
OP, have you experienced driving at high speeds against a 20+ mph headwind? In my experience this lowers mpg even more than sub-freezing temps. For example, on a tollway driving at 75 mph with a wind at my back pushing me forward, I was getting 38 mpg. On the way back the same day, going against...
Noticed this noise yesterday for first time when I was stopped at a traffic light on an incline slope. Temp was 50 degrees. Truck had just started up 1 minute prior. It went away shortly after.
The other measurement you need to consider is ādrop heightā. This refers to how high the bottom of the ball will be in reference to the top (inside) of the hitch receiver. Most common drop height would be ā2 inch dropā. This would work with standard Uhaul trailers. The idea is to get the trailer...
On the instrument cluster all of a sudden the āThis Tripā data stopped working. It only counts the time but it stopped accumulating any mpg or total mileage data. Itās like that one window just broke. I tried turning the car off and restarting. Still doesnāt work. Note: when I finish each trip...
What about scratches on the textured plastic of the dashboard? Has anyone tried buffing it out with products and if so how did it turn out? It seems like the texture is very finely detailed and if you buff it out, it will create an area that looks noticeably damaged? Seems like only smooth...
I will say thisā¦
If youāre driving against a strong wind, the mpg takes a big hit almost equivalent to cold freezing weather. Even more than the AC lowers it. Definitely cold weather and strong wind do the most havoc on mpg. This is my observation so far.
