For 500 bucks (600 total with installation) you can get a decent set of 4 wheels from Discount Tire or Tire Rack. Mine look pretty amazing and some people think itās an upper trim truck.
After my first 2,500 miles my hand-calculated average is 36 mpg.
That is with about 75% tollway driving at speeds between 70-80 mph. Plus itās ALL been during the coldest months of the year.
At first I was upset that my average was below the estimate. But after reading all these posts I know...
Itās funnyā¦the Maverick is considered an inexpensive truck, yet Iāve gotten more comments on it than any other vehicle Iāve owned.
Just today I got into a long chat with a cool war veteran who was disabled. He was really into the Maverick and was thinking of buying one.
Iāve noticed this...
Donāt worry. Youāll see a big increase in mpg once the temp reaches 60 degrees or more. I see the temp on your display is 26 degrees. Yea, donāt listen to the naysayers or those who make you feel bad by saying āI get 65 mpgā. Itās BS. Just donāt focus too much on the variances in your mpg from...
I already made a full thread about adding tie-downs to the 2025 model:

Thanks for the info, everybody.
I just assumed that since the defroster was on the same screen menu as the other 2 vents (dashboard and feet), that it was just 3 different ways of directing the air from the same source and with the same settings. Now I know that clicking the defrost one on top...
Iāve noticed the same.
These Mavericks seem to have a mind of their own with regard to heat and AC. Even when itās not on auto, the fan speed randomly changes. Also the AC itself randomly turns on and off, and so does the recirculate button. Iāve just accepted the fact that you canāt get around...
There have been some recent threads here about how the heater significantly drops mpg, even more than AC.
In my fiddling around and experimenting with my new 2025, it seems that whenever the windshield defroster is on, the drop in mpg is the greatest. Even if you keep the fan speed and temp...
Before the 2025 models arrived at dealers and people starting buying them, I noticed a LOT of hate for the front end re-design. Myself included. I was not a fan. In fact I was eager to get the previous design since that was the original Maverick that I fell in love with. This new front-end, at...
A member posted a thread back in 2021 where he weighed a steel wheel without the tire and says it was 27.2 pounds on the scale.

FYI, almost all aftermarket wheels that fit your...
Itās inaccurate. Mine jumps between 350 and 700 āmiles to emptyā on a full tank. I wish they didnāt even have that feature since itās so wildly inaccurate. It only samples the last 500 miles driven. In my case I go on a long trip at 80 mph twice a month. When I fill up after these trips it says...
I agree with you about the front instrument cluster screen. Almost twice the total space as previous models, yet they seem to have REDUCED the amount of info shown. Plus you canāt keep the screen that you want continuously up. Not to mention the janky gas gauge with the needle pointer that skips...
