I have tuxmats in my GTI. Also have weathertechs. The tuxmats are not as slippery when wet and in the case of the GTI, they have better coverage. It's harder for my kids to salt the floor in winter.

Yes, we try. Engines are designed outside of vehicle specific platforms so there is always some challenge. I've had several vehicles that were worse. Nothing like arcing the starter motor while removing the filter (I'm looking at you GM 3.1L V6). Another plug option...
