Pretty sure you guys are the ones not understanding the math here, diameter matters. Doesnāt matter if itās 3mm or 50mm. Nothing like posting 2d images trying to solve a 3d problem š¤Ŗ
More importantly we can discard math, theory and graphics and use REAL LIFE RESULTS. Another member and I have...
Iām going to make this super extra simple for you guys.
āIāve physically taken oem Maverick chrome lugs and on bronco sport wheels they bottom out and damage the rim. Another member has posted the same with pictures.
Great you managed to fit both a 24mm and a 26mm lug into a hole that appears to be 38-40mm. Well done Sir truly amazing. šš This has truly become a comedy show.
Iāve posted pics of damaged rims, pics of lugs with obviously different physical differences, length, width, diameter so on.
and...
Soā¦ā¦ a 60 degree taper on lug with a 100mm diameter is going to fit in a hole the same as something with a 60 degree taper and 50 mm diameter???
āThe only constant here is the 60 degree taper. The lugs coned area have a 3mm outside diameter difference and depth/length difference.
That 3mm...
Youāre not accounting for the depth being shorter on the bronco m12 lug. The 2 lugs have different lengths/depth, diameter and hole size. The only constant is the 60 degree angle
You do realize your last 4 pics clearly show damage ? The lugs are bottoming out on the wheels and chewing them up. The lugs look half polished where they have been chewing up the rim.
Yes it is about how deep they engageā¦ā¦ā¦ and one member has already posted pics of Mav lugs bottoming out and chewing up the bronco sport rims. The bottom pic clearly shows damage
Think what you guys are not getting is the diameter is different the Mav lugs are clearly larger. If you have a hole and a dime fits snugly in itā¦ā¦ā¦..will a quarter fit the same ?
I wouldnāt consider it confirmed without pics and or measurements with a caliper.
I donāt believe Johnkn actually went out and checked but is just going from memory from when he installed them. Bronco sport lugs have clear differences in size from Maverick lugs and They ABSOLUTELY fit...
I just have a hard time believing this is accurate information. This past week Iāve had bronco sport lugs next to factory chrome Maverick lugs, factory steel wheel lugs and aftermarket lugs.
The Bronco sport lugs that came from the factory are clearly much smaller in the coned seat area...
So has anyone found a good chrome lug nut that properly fits the Bronco sport rims on the Maverick ? Apparently the holes are smaller on the Bronco wheels because they use a 12mm stud compared to the 14mm on the Maverick. This doesnāt allow some lug nuts to seat properly. Part numbers or links...
Iāve seen multiple reports here on the forum of bad batteries and a suspected bad batch of batteries. Same/similar issues like your having all cured with a new battery.
The dealer needs to do a thorough test of the battery and replace if bad.
Iāve also seen a similar issue reported and it was...
