  1. Pretty sure I am waiting for nothing

I just signed the basic order form and gave a $500 deposit on each. If by some chance all 4 trucks got built and the dealers insisted I actually buy all 4, I have the means to be able to buy them and I would buy them if I had to... As it is pretty clear that I could resell these trucks and...
  2. Pretty sure I am waiting for nothing

These trucks caught my eye back in late 2021... But didn't really consider getting one till spring of 2022. I do not want to pay over MSRP period. I have the ability to buy with X plan plus have a bundle of ford pass points to use. I figure I needed to order one and wait on it. Waited...
  3. Maybe Ford never intended to produce and sell a ton of Mavericks?

The maverick will be easier to park for sure The maverick will be easier to wash, dry, wax for sure ( if your old school like me and like to hand wash your vehicle ) The maverick will cost less money and get better gas milage Those are the advantages... The F150 offers up WAY more...
  4. Maybe Ford never intended to produce and sell a ton of Mavericks?

Just got to thinking about this... If you have noticed, almost all mainstream car makers have gone to pushing trucks and SUV's. The American makes have all but almost completely dropped making sedans and small " cheap " cars. They say that sedans and cheap little cars just didn't have...
  5. What will happen to resale prices of 2022 models when 2024's begin to be made?

Never really considered that last point you made.... Yeah today there ARE some dealers willing to sell EcoBoost mavs for sticker price. It isn't super hard to find one. And I guess in the case of have to have it now, that 3-10 grand savings over paying a marked up price for a hybrid does...
  6. What will happen to resale prices of 2022 models when 2024's begin to be made?

Seems to be only a few months away and 2024's will go into production and at that point 2022 models will be two years old. Even if no changes are made, seems that just the fact that they are two model years old, most vehicles lose value just based on that fact. Couple that with the fact...
  7. So your Mav won’t get built….What’s your Plan B?

Late fall of 2021 I replaced my wifes aging 200K plus miles 2011 Sienna with a used 2019 Mazda CX9. I was driving a 2017 Fusion Sport at the time, plus I had a 2018 F150 I use mostly for work or heavy towing duty ( we have boats, jet skis, camper, etc... so a lot of towing going on here )...
  8. Ford account not showing my order????

So back in Sept I put 4 different mavericks on order. Yes... I know that some will have issue that I ordered 4 of these and be happy to discuss why I ordered 4 if anyone wants to be critical of it. But regardless I do have 4 on order, two with one dealer and two with a different dealer...
  9. Tremor auction price on Cars & Bids - Thoughts?

I have bought and sold a car a year later ( same car ) on cars and bids. If your buying a car off the site, the site charges your credit card the buyers fee when the auction ends, assuming you won the auction. So all you pay is the buyers fee to them. Then your expected to pay the seller...
  10. How many here are waiting on a maverick, or just want one but haven't sat in one?

I know its a cheap truck. I didn't have enormous expectations. And to be fair I wouldn't describe it as a $hitbox or anything. In comparison to cheap cars from the 80's or 90's it has better fit and finish and trim for sure. I reckon I am spoiled by what I have been driving the last...
  11. How many here are waiting on a maverick, or just want one but haven't sat in one?

I only want the lariat because certain options can only be had on the lariat.
  12. Maverick under MSRP if anyone is interested

I bid on it before looking close at the window sticker or pics. It didn’t have the lux package. I decided I really didn’t want it. I would have bought it if my bid was the winning bid but posted it here and a few other places to see if anyone wanted it more than me. Glad I didn’t get...
  13. Maverick under MSRP if anyone is interested

Correct. Currently, at my bid, with the buyers fee, I am under MSRP. Even figuring in a cheap airfare to get there and gas to drive it home I am under MSRP.
  14. Maverick under MSRP if anyone is interested

There is a comment section under each auction on that site. In the comments the seller says he ordered the maverick and a F150 lighting at the same time and now he has both and guessing he wants to keep just one, so maverick is the one he is ditching. Not uncommon thing. Many people bought...
  15. Maverick under MSRP if anyone is interested

https://carsandbids.com/auctions/35MjaPej/2022-ford-maverick-xlt-awd I am currently the highest bidder. Was a spur-of-the-moment bid, and my max bid. Anyone wants it more than me you got a little over 5 hours to outbid me. I am not sure I actually want it, but ill take it if I am the highest...
  16. How many here are waiting on a maverick, or just want one but haven't sat in one?

probably the most notable thing from looking at the XL and lariat yesterday was the lariat didn’t seem wildly “nicer “ apart from the leather on the steering wheel and the bigger screen in between the gauges… it really didn’t seem more upscale. The fake leather seats didn’t seem premium...
  17. How many here are waiting on a maverick, or just want one but haven't sat in one?

Probably this post will be like smacking the hornets nest.... But I have been " Wanting " a maverick for about a year now. Been reading about them on forums and facebook pages for over a year, watching videos / reading magazine articles, etc... I put in orders for both a XLT and a Lariat...
  18. My BAP Cactus Gray Lariat LUX Hybrid is here!!

Thanks for the pics. Yeah, I won't change mine. If I could have the black seats but the rest of the normal lariat interior colors I would be happier I think. But the rate things are going, who knows if I will even get the damn thing.
  19. Just me rambling on about marked up pricing

In response to that last sentence.... You COULD look at it that way.... that placing orders for more than a person ultimately needs would be giving more trucks for the dealers to mark up.... Or you could look at it like this.... There is X number of people wanting / waiting, to buy a...
  20. Just me rambling on about marked up pricing

I totally understand that. It is even more aggravating when you don't pay extra and see so many people skipping the line your waiting in.... knowing that letting them on in front of you is delaying your wait even more so.
