Thanks for the explanation. I must have missed that when I went through the process, I don't remember anything about reservations when I did the online bit and took a printout to my dealer. Then again, that was so very long ago.

I thought they didn't schedule according to order dates? I've seen several posts saying last-minute orders might get pushed. But...I thought order date didn't really matter due to allocation systems, priority codes, material shortages, etc?

Supposedly tons of trucks scheduled for delivery soon have been pushed back 2-3 months with, of course, no explanation. Probably the chip shortage?

Has any of this been good customer service? At least people say the reps on the phone are nice, if uninformed.

Ford has pretty consistently been inconsistent with information through this. I don't think all the various parts of Ford communicate with each other. No wonder they can't communicate with customers.

On the upside, if it's true, we all get our Thursdays back from constantly refreshing our emails.

I would consider it if it were similar in specs to the hybrid Maverick. I held off getting a truck because I want what I want and it finally became available. Only it turns out not to be available because Ford can't actually produce them in sufficient numbers. If Subaru can, I'll consider it...

Looking back through threads, maybe there aren't as many "totalled Maverick" threads as it felt like. I guess the green-eyed monster is real. Still, good to see no one was seriously hurt and that the safety features work.

You sure read a lot into what I said that wasn't there. It's not hopeless, but Ford has consistently over promised what they could do. They said they shut off orders to make sure they could get them built. However, they did not shut all orders off, just retail and dealer orders. Who knows how...

Why wouldn't they? I might buy one truck a decade, the federal government leases hundreds a year. Maybe thousands. Then theres state, county, etc. governments as well. Those won't all be mavericks, but surely someone in some level is noticing small, fuel efficient trucks. Supposedly Ford pumps...
