The rumor is the Maverick will be on the Escape/Bronco Sport body on frame & suspension so that should allow for the aftermarket options that are existing/becoming available for mainly the Bronco Sport...right? If they offer more than just the rumored FWD. I like the idea of a slightly lifted...
I think a lot of it will hinge on the popularity of whatever they release at first. I hope both options, but if only the 1.5 it will be interesting. I know the small truck people/commercial will buy not caring. Then their are the rest of us that want the 2.0. If they don't release that at...
Possible, but man I hope not. With all the shared parts with the Escape & Bronco Sport it would be crazy to not offer the two. I get the lower models will have the lesser, but the top models should have the 2.0. I’m also thinking people are underestimating that this thing will be a hit with the...
I agree. I’d assume the top of the line fully optioned will have the 2.0. Would be a big selling point with weekend outdoors groups (avt/utv/small boat/mini camper).
I’m thinking a smaller Honda Ridgeline type. C Pilar forward is a Bronco Sport. Please do not get rid of a classic Bronco, or the bigger Bronco for this or anything. I’d say it’s a lateral trade if they have a 4x4 version of this for a Bronco Sport. Just my opinion.
If you look at the below photos it looks like it is basically a Bronco Sport C Pilar forward. The interior shots it looks like a hybrid of Bronco Sport & Escape interior. If you look at the bare metal body I think the bed is where the space is sacrificed. Think more Jeep Gladiator bed use. If...
This is what I posted in the other forum...
I kinda dig it for what it is. If it’s close to this I’ll be ok with it. People are wanting it to look like a miniature F250 Super Duty, or something. That’s not what Ford is going after.
Id think they would go with the Bronco Sport/Escape setup:
1.5-liter three-cylinder with 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque & hopefully they will offer the 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 245 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque.
Eventually a hybrid/electric maybe?
If the rumor of starting point under...
I’m liking the direction & agree with everyone else. Better than the ranger’s front end. Nice & squared off makes it a bit more masculine. Aftermarket options will allow change of that grill if one wanted. Let’s hope it doesn’t have the ugly avalanche style wings from the cab to the bed.
