A glimmer of newborn hope amongst an otherwise dying breed... affordable/reasonable vehicles! 🥲
Yet another reason I'm proud to soon be a Maverick owner. I'm not letting its flaws get in the way of my $$$ telling the market, that as a consumer, I want reasonable options.
Apparently I need to work on my openers. I'm admittedly a tough love person and skip the touchy feely part of delivering certain points of view.
Perhaps I should have opened with "That sucks, I often have felt the same. However, when I examine why I get frustrated I find that maybe how we think...
Yeah... no offense... but there is a flip side to every coin.
Ya know, like people who write "no offense" in a post online then talk a bunch of 🤬. It helps them feel better because somehow they read a post that touched their ego the wrong way. Wound so tight ya missed the fact that the TC Inc...
Thanks for chiming in. I hope.that my post doesn't start a debate about how to maintain your car. I mainly want to counter some bad culture that adds to the kind of negative effects you posted above. Which BTW, I have some of the same tendencies, we all do. The post is also a reminder to...
OP, was this just a vent or a serious worry?
I cant count how many threads here people are debating spending lots of $$$ or time fixing the superficial small stuff. The age old "Dont sweat the small stuff" comes into play here.
Here is a different view... As long as the paint is intact, the...
A little while back someone went off in an oil change thread saying its dumb to do your own fluid work to save $30-40.
For many its less about the $$$ and more about making sure its done right. Too much work done on vehicles is sight unseen without much way to review after. I've had a few...
Normally I'd pass on that, but todays rates in a hugh interest bank. On even a base Ma. Out the door you're making $1000 a year for 3 years keeping that money.
That's better than a flip right now. How did you make 0% happen? Thought that wasnt a thing right now.
When in doubt completely empty the passenger cabin, not a thing left in the car. You may identify the source in your travels.
Change cabin air filter or remove as previously stated.
Drive around a day or two with windows down when possible. Reduces lingering odor to help allow identification...
I cant fully picture what your describing but your last line resonates. I was keeping mine simple because at a certain point of complication its no longer worth my time. With what I planned I can walk away from the time investment if it doesn't work.
I'm going for plywood cut to fit edge to edge and a 1" silicone weather stripping on bottom side all around. Will have fo find some toggles, something like this to put the weather stripping under tension (waterproof), for security, and quick access.
Burn the grain on top but mask out the word...

I've chatted with Ford once every other week to verify my order status, cause I read to much on the internet and distrust everything 🤣
I also happened to call on Tues instead of chat and pressed what sounded like a nice little old lady about...

Awesome, now stop topping off your tank! 😜
Extra .5 gallon of gas per trip isnt worth overflowing into your charcoal canister and dealing EVAP system BS if it's true that can be an issue.
Guaranteed that other factors you miss provide larger margin of error than .3mpg
- Drive path
- Your foot
- wind conditions
- computer or gas pump variance
- load in the car (did you evacuate your bowels constantly and eat the same?)
- etc
- etc
Just to be scientific about it 😁
Kudos to OP for doing some diligence. I'd send you a pic bit I dont have my truck yet.
So many people are noticing things about their truck after reading nightmare recall service job stories. Likely many not necessarily linked to the recall but induced by a bit of paranoia. Some maybe issues...
I dont like it, but am not surprised about possible trackers found. I mean, everything is tracking us all the time now, why wouldn't you expect a dealer/previous owner or anyone who didnt care about drooping $50 to be tracking you?
Sad, but kind of expected. Be ready to drop some $$$ and...
