the tranny is an important distinction that I haven't addressed much, and likely why the Mav is going to be available only with the 2.0 in AWD for towing. I'm perfectly happy with the eCVT (*note* it's way different from the old CVT), but if you're towing that's another matter. But then you...
Nah, I've had 4 Prius, all 55 mpg if I go light, not that much worse with my lead foot. Mav is light, 40 is the around town/under 55mph #. Any of the comments on this thread apply equally to the 2.0, or any engine for that matter; lead foot, you're going to go down. No matter what, the hybrid...
I"ve had two regular Prius and two plug-in Primes, all 55mpg. Great cars, I don't think anyone should have any concerns about hybrid - it's just a gas engine with a big battery so it saves fuel at lights, stop and go traffic, downhill, etc. Ford's is well proven, should be a no-brainer. I'm...
From what I've seen there's only one little seam behind the back door that's there to allow for flex, but the rest is pretty rigid - far more so than on a traditional ladder frame and box build.
All the DIY scan-to-print ideas are really cool and of course going to take a while.
But something like the basic cab to bedrail profile, or bedrail profile itself for clamp on applications, is set in stone. If someone can shoot detailed pics at a trainer session, it'd be super helpful.
Anybody have a photo of the bed to cab junction? This looks to be critical for anyone looking at over the rail tonneau covers, or a combo of in-rail tonneau with the Xtend ladder rack, as it's a super unusual detail which Ford doesn't provide info for.
Went with Extang Xceed Hard TriFold (40 working day lead time, perfect for my delivery), and it sure looks to me that the Extend ladder rack is the only one that going to work on the Mav due to very tight bedrail gap for clamps or bolts.
No, I'm not doing heavy duty stuff that would scratch the paint, and the spray in is a delay (I'm scheduled for 9/20). I'm doing the mat to protect the stuff and soften the noise of it bouncing around. FYI new pics show almost 7' of total length with tailgate down, so I'm getting 4x7 from...
Does anyone know if there is a schedule of trainers in So Cal? I'd love to see one in person as I just can't get some info from Ford; live in Santa Barbara so something in the Ventura area?
Nothing to be sorry for - that was a great help for those contemplating racks - if to be used in conjunction with a tonneau, doesn't look like there's room for bolt or T track nuts. Which leaves only one option - the Xtend. thanks again!
Oops there they are! Thanks! What would you estimate the width of the gap is, above the tie off bar, right at the 2" mark on the top picture? That's where the bolt mechanism fits in that holds on the tonneau. Looks thin, like 1/2" or so?
