I generally use a regular hose with a small amount of low pressure water, never a pressure washer. I'd stay away from touching anything orange while they are wet. I think (but not sure) that they are de-energized when to truck is off but better to be safe then sorry. I just use enough water as...
I live in Canada and have no problem with the hybrid keeping the cabin warm, even when only driving around town in stop and go traffic. The temp gauge will however rarely indicate full operating temperature in city but there is no lack of heat. The heated seats and wheel also function very well.
I live in Canada. I find that the hybrid has a great heating system.... thought the engine does run alot more when heat is called for. I use autostart to run it a minute or two before heading out and it warms up quickly.
A battery is a wear item but it certainly does not wear out in one year. In my experience, living in Canada, a battery should last 5 to 6 years under normal conditions. (I've never had one not last that long over the past 30 years). I just ignore all the deep sleep warning messages that my 23...
I have owned a 23 FWD XLT hybrid for two years and often tow my pop-up camper which is near the 2K lbs limit. The truck easily handles this weight and since most of my driving is in the city the double in gas mileage over the ecoboost was very important to me.
To be honest, IMO the hybrid is...
I had the 2.0 ecoboost in my Escape and from my experience I noticed a slight power improvement only when it was really hot and the engine was heat soaked. It was slightly peppier at higher rpms with the higher octain gas. No perceivable difference in mileage. Higher octain gas has less...
I had my friends with their 15 mpg 1/2 tons say the same thing... and most/nearly all of them use their trucks as nothing more then tall "Crown Vics" lol. :) I actually tow my pop-up camper and use the bed for truck things, moving junk and furniture etc. I bought to my requirements and keep...
Fake news or really horrible fact checking. "Ford says it assembled over 300,000 more vehicles in the U.S. than its closest competitor in 2024, including all of its pickup trucks". Then it says that the Maverick pickup truck is built in Mexico.
After 1.5 years of ownership I have had that happen recently, a couple times over the past couple of months. I don't remember this happening before and I am going mention it to the dealer the next time I take the truck in. One time it was really bad and yesterday it was just noticeable.
I had a intermittent rough idle on my wife's 2015 mazda3 a few years ago and called the dealer about a throttle body/fuel injector cleaning. The service rep, who I kinda knew from us both being volunteer firefighters with different departments asked me if I wanted to try something cheaper... I...
Might not be necessary to change your oil, normally if you take a longer drive, say for an hour, or even in town, stop and go, for a hour to let the oil get up to full operating temperature and stay there for awhile the fuel and water will burn off and you'll be fine. I had a similiar problem...
I find it surprising that an axle would have broken but there is no other damage... nothing bent or obviously out of alignment? I assume that the wheel and tire are ok? the control arm and tie rod ends are still perfect. etc.? Was the axle itself impacted (it should have obvious marks)? If...
I had a completed different problem with my last vehicle, a Honda CRV, all the warning lights on the dash would light up but a restart seemed to fix the problem. Took it to the dealer and they could not find anything wrong. It happened every few months but always went away. I took it once more...
