  1. How the eCVT in the Hybrid works

Very entertaining but I take issue with two things: One, the Maverick hybrid is actually very fun to drive in my experience and two, I also enjoy the pretentious personality of sport mode which for a period of time you can almost imagine you're driving a conventional ICE propelled vehicle. And...
  2. Now Ford is offering mobile service?

My dealer has been offering mobile service for years. Apparently they prefer it because they call ME to get the recalls scheduled. I'm guessing it improves customer compliance and they get it off the books quicker. The latest trailer recall update only took about 10 minutes but the upcoming IPC...
  3. Need direction: sudden drop in gas mileage

I don't particularly trust the digital fuel economy gauge although I think it can be adjusted in Forscan but that's another thread. The most accurate method IMO is to fill up to one click at the pump. Drive until at least 1/4 or less in the tank. Fill up again at the same pump to one click and...
  4. Ford Midsize EV Truck News: Ford Skunkworks (EVDC) - first ever behind the scenes tour; sneak peek at EV pickup [WARNING: NO POLITICS]

China is currently producing at least 4 EV pickups with ranges not significantly better than 300 miles. However, they start at less than $20,000 US but of course that's simply a comparative. Jim Farley has taken several trips over there in the last two years to get an up close look at their...
  5. Hybrid battery on back order

Buyback claims in Ohio must be filed within the first year of ownership. If qualified and no damage, you'll receive a check for the full amount on the sales agreement including tax plus any interest you paid. Of course then you face the issue of finding a replacement.
  6. HYBRID 12V Battery Mystery SOLVED

Very interesting insights and a logical explanation. I'll have to play around with it myself as my resting voltage is rarely above 11.8 v. But I would have to add, there is no free lunch. The energy to power that extra draw comes from the HVB. That in turn has to reduce efficiency. The reduction...
  7. Blackstone Labs Oil Analysis Comparison at 10k Miles

BTW, the oil collection instructions are nearly identical to how you should collect a clean catch urine sample. Remember it the next time you're in your doctor's office for a physical.
  8. Thank you, great explanations and now I understand 🙏can it really go nearly 25 miles on electric only

The mileage on my 25 Hybrid AWD is consistently 25% electric only. That's about it but I really don't pay any particular attention to how I drive it, I just drive.
  9. Hybrid 12V Battery In Sleep Mode

Bad news for you Tim. I've had my 25 hybrid since October and the 12v battery issues have not gone away. The SOC tends to hang out anywhere from around 30-40%. There is seemingly no end in sight.
  10. 2024 Lariat Buyback Experience

I'm glad that all worked out for you. My case was similar except no negotiating was necessary. The RAV rep just flat out offered the exact figure that was on the sales agreement, including sales tax of course. That is more typical from what I have been told from multiple dealers with experience...
  11. Hybrid 12V Battery In Sleep Mode

Good for you Jim, I hope that takes care of the issue. Unfortunately that will not be a universal fix for many owners. My 24 hybrid spent around six weeks in service before Ford bought it back after 8k miles. No parasitic draw was ever detected and no solution was ever developed despite all of...
  12. Mabett Silicone Dashboard Cover for 2025 Ford Maverick Available Now!

I got it primarily to reduce the occasional glare on my dashcam images. It works for that but it was definitely overkill.
  13. Mabett Silicone Dashboard Cover for 2025 Ford Maverick Available Now!

Yep, doesn't stay in place very well in my case. A little fabric adhesive in some key areas should do the trick.
  14. Manual fuel door release....

Actually reading a post before commenting on it would be helpful.
  15. Manual fuel door release....

That was my point exactly but the replies referred to why the fuel door is designed to lock in the first place. It is a safety feature to protect the operator from accessing the sealed fuel inlet before the system is depressurized. The door itself does not actually seal anything. Okay that's...
  16. Manual fuel door release....

I get it thanks but that was not my point.
  17. Manual fuel door release....

Not a fan of this emergency release handle. Anyone with knowledge of its function can just pop open the fuel filler door and do whatever. It really defeats the purpose of having it locked closed in the first place. I tucked mine back behind the wheel well shroud as far as I could. At least it...
  18. 2025 AWD Hybrid. " AWD OFF"

That's interesting, I've had my 25 HAWD since last October and I have never seen that message displayed.
  19. How I “Fixed” Battery Drain

Well you sure got me beat but always happy to hear about a great deal. Enjoy!
