I am also in Atlanta. The rout mine took was odd. It went from Mexico to East St. Louis where it sat for a few days, then up to Chicago where it sat for a while, then down to Atlanta where it took over a week be sent to the dealership. I figure that it traveled about twice as far as it would...
In the original post it said that the truck was at one dealership for 28 days in the shop then another for another 8 days. There may have been some other days too.
With that many days in the shop I would have lost confidence in the truck.
I agree that the hybrid is a better choice for almost everyone. The problem is that about half of the people that ordered a hybrid will not get one in 2023.
I would have preferred a hybrid and even had a preorder set up for a hybrid last July when the order books were scheduled to open in...
See if you can take the mechanic or service writer for a test drive where you can point out the sound to him or her. If the mechanic is older, has used lots of loud power tools, listened to a lot a loud music with earbuds, or spent a lot of time on a shooting range, etc, their hearing may...
We have had our Maverick for a month now so I just wanted to post some impressions. We came down with COVID-19 the week after buying it which has limited our use of it so we only have about 300 miles on it so far. We are a retired couple who will mainly be using it for local driving and Home...
We have had our Maverick for about a month and I decided to go on and buy the extended warranty yesterday since we are in an unusual situation since we will not be driving the Maverick a lot of miles.
It is a new 2023 XLT, lux, CP360 with the Ecoboost engine.
I have never bought an extended...
Call or Chat with the Ford Customer service to check on the status of your order. There is a non-zero chance that your Maverick has been scheduled and the dealership is trying to get you to buy something else so they can say that you abandoned your order.
The Ford ordering process is a mess...
It sounds like they are trying to sucker you into buying a marked up used Maverick instead of the ordered one which will be there is a month or so.
If you buy the used Maverick somewhere in the 30 pages of paperwork they will get you to sign something saying that you do not want your 2023...
I got my September order for an Ecoboost, XLT, Lux, 360 about three weeks ago. I suspect that part of the reason it was scheduled was that Ford looks at the profit per truck when scheduling what to build and the Lux package made it more profitable.
At the point there really is not much you...
Years ago I knew someone that made a point of washing his car in the rain to save water. He would put on his swimming suit, make up bucket of soapy water, and go wash it by hand in his driveway.
His neighbors thought that he was crazy.
If you wanted to when you are done you could then...
Tell them that it is your "hunter gatherer" instincts and that you are attracted by the challenge of the hunt.
There is actually likely some truth in that. Now that mine has arrived I sort of miss the drama of waiting for a Thursday email or the latest new on production and constraints.
You need to find out if you have price protection on your original order since that can be worth a couple of thousand dollars.
I ended up in a similar situation I had entered a preorder for a bare bones XL hybrid in July back when the order bank was going to open in August.
By the time the...
One complication is that the most common material that is used for 3d printing is call PLA which is likely what the library used. The problem with that material is that it will not hold up well in a car on a hot day and it will soften and deform if not actually melt. There are other materials...
I ran into this two weeks ago when I picked up my wife's Maverick.
I was not a FB member back in September when I ordered but joined sometime in Febuary(?).
According to the dealership the coupon was not valid for the September order date in Smart Vincent but when they used the April purchase...
A concern is that prior to a formal lemon law buyback Ford or the dealership might do a preemptive buyback that is not technically under the lemon law. That is just speculation but I am see how that might happen especially when a used Maverick can be sold for above the new MSRP.
It might vary by state but if you buy it as used then the state Lemon Laws may not apply.
It is also conceivable that a used Maverick was bought back from a customer who was going to try to return it under the Lemon Law.
Ford would be making plenty on the Maverick if it was not for the costs of the recalls and warranty work on a new model.
I highly suspect that they have been limiting the production numbers until they could get most of the glitches with a new model worked out.
Keep in mind that you are comparing a six year old Lexus to a new Maverick. In ten years you would be comparing a 10 year old Maverick to a 16 year old Lexus that could have a lot of miles by then if it lasts that long.
A big factor is how many miles you drive each year and how many miles...
I picked mine up on Saturday at the agreed price.
I am not a lawyer but even if you had a valid contract with a dealership for your Maverick, which you don't, then one huge problem is that if they sell it and you sue them for damages then you the big question is what were the actual damages...
Picked up my MSRP September XLT Ecoboost order with Jim Ellis Ford of Sandy Springs(North Atlanta, Georgia) with no problems so add them to the list.
I got the emails from Ford about my order as it went through scheduling to shipping so they entered my information correctly.
They did have...
