Is the old rollover/blowout issue still looming over firestone tires? An issue caused by Ford recomending low tire pressure.
Everything about them seems great. At least top 5 tractions in all categories among AT's. Light weight for the ones that care about unsprung mass.
Theres the one youtube...
It sounds like you dont have the 4k tow package then. You can get a brake controller and 7pin hitch easily in the aftermarket. But the ford tow package also includes an extra trans cooler and a lower final drive ratio.
Their bad rep from an issue Ford caused still seems to be sticking around, but I plan on swapping to firestone destination AT2s. 235/65r17 weigh 28lbs. Their reviews on tirerack and discount tire are great.
I had destination at's on my 94 ranger and they were way better than the goodyear...
As others have said on these trucks and a lot newer vehicles. At best coasting in neutral will use more gas than coasting in drive and at worst damage the engine or trans. Either way its not good to do this.
Its just the dealership says everything is properly I will find out what testing they did and do more of my own once I pick it up today. It sucks because its been a 2 month process to get the truck into service.
Correct I only feel them if i squeeze the override (no matter how high the gain). The trailer was not attached when they tested. I guess they have equipment to simulate an attached trailer and read outputs.
I suppose I could find a clear stretch of road in the country and do stop tests with and...
It is loaded, its just a small teardrop camper.
That makes sense why it has the low speed cutoff. I just mentioned it because it makes it difficult to properly diagnose at home since the truck needs to be in motion to check if they engage from the brake pedal. I would need to get the truck up...
I cant feel my trailer brakes engaging when using the brake pedal even with gain at 10. I can be braking on the highway but dont feel the trailer helping until I squeeze the override switch( and if the gain is at 10 it will lock up with a full squeeze)
NOTE: I had the trailer brake recall done...
So trip is over. Only 2100 miles(took a more direct route home)(maybe 200miles without trailer)
Averaged 23.6mpg. Driving slow doesnt suite me 😅. The truck seemed happier at 70-80(better spot in power band?). Only switched to tow/haul on the mountain roads, but was in regular for the rest.
The...
