If he's 90% highway, he's getting the EPA estimated 33 MPG right? Overall, this doesn't change my mind about ordering a hybrid, but it just got cold here in coastal VA so I should see pretty good numbers MPG-wise

Depends on how soon you think is soon. No official word from either company yet, so that leaves out 23, maybe 24/25. My money is on Toyota coming to the market before Honda (if Honda comes at all). Toyota likes to test, test, and retest before coming out with new models, Taco will be overhauled...

I see a lot of folks who can't fathom paying over sticker, shoot I'm one of them. But there are also folks that will and do. Those folks could benefit from such a perk. What'll really blow your gasket is some businesses buy Mavs for $10k above sticker because it lowers or eliminates their tax...

Membership has its privileges. You don't get to just walk into the Delta lounge at the airport either. He isn't charging for better priority so much as membership has a perk of getting a higher priority. Happens all the time...Sam's Club, Costco, BJ's WSC, Kroger, Mustang Club of America, Farm...

IIRC, in order to get BAP added after an order, the dealer had to select "Black Onyx" as the interior color...perhaps this method will work in reverse? Have your dealer change your interior color to Blue Slate/Navy Pier (or whatever the XLT interior color is) and see if that drops the BAP...

Tell the dealer to try to modify the order on a Monday, or a Friday. The system is wonky Tues-Thurs (something to do with Ford scheduling Mavs, moving them to the plant, etc) Thanks to Tim Bartz for that tip

Honestly OP, "...you gotta know when to hold them...know when to fold them..." might just be a better (and less stressful) option to just buy something else...plenty of new vehicles out there at invoice or thousands off of MSRP...
