Hey everyone! Long time no post - last time was my 6k review and sadly, I never got around to finishing it for various and sundry reasons (nothing bad, all good!). So Iām going to make a re-do - and Iāll try to be as comprehensive as possible but still somewhat brief. So here we go!
Model and...
TL;DR: Light duty truck good, get one if it suits your needs - and if you can.
With that out of the way...
So you want to know what the Maverick is all about? Maybe you stumbled on this perusing the forums for Maverick info. Maybe you're patiently awaiting the arrival of the Maverick you...
Folding up to the cab and covering the rear window is the one thing this cover wonāt do. Taking it off isnāt hard, though. There are four hand-tightened clamps under the back plate that you can loosen to take the entire cover off. I know there are some that fold up to the cab but they do cost...
Got one, I really like it, used it for a couple of weeks. Very easy to use, looks great, keeps most water out (a tiny bit gets in around the space around the sides of the tailgate, but most of that runs out from below anyway). I wouldnāt hesitate to keep anything that needs to stay dry back...
I have not tried to max out the Maverick, I expected it to be governed around the 110 point given the type of vehicle it is.
However, I can tell you that a Nissan Titan is governed at the same speed and that a 2012 base-model Hyundai Accent will do a solid buck-twenty-five in 6th. I know...
I thought Iād hate it, but 4,000 miles in, Iāve grown to like it. Smaller footprint, fewer places for dirt and crumbs and such to fall, and more room for cubbies and such.
Good on you for walking away from something that didnāt work for you! It would be easy to build something up in your mind for so long that you overlook dealbreakers on the test drive after waiting that long. Hate that you didnāt like it, though.
Iām always interested to see what people think of...
Ordered mine on September 9, 2021 and mine arrived on March 30, 2022. I never got any word on it, and was willing to wait over a year. It just⦠Arrived. I was surprised.
Love it more now than when it first got here. Great vehicle.
This might be cool, but if I had to guess, an offering by Toyota would likely be 1. More expensive than a Mav, and 2. Super boring.
My prediction: some sort of RAV4 truck-like thing with a 4-foot bed, standard 201-bhp 4-banger making an unremarkable 25mpg mixed and starting at 26k. It will be...
6ā2ā and 205lb. I feel like I have more knee room in the Mav than in my wifeās Mazda CX-9 (three-row SUV). I keep my sonās car seat behind the passenger seat because I keep my seat far enough back that itās pretty tight for his legroom, but he could fit behind me if he had to. I can sit behind...
Should have told her that it may be small, but itās efficient, and because of that, you can go all night unlike these other guys that need a little help.
You know, just to make sure you go to HR.
Interesting comparison if only because the Mav is the only truck you can cross-shop with Civics, Corollas, and Elantras. I would agree with the results here - if you just needed āa car,ā then a Civic or similar might be the best purchase. But if you really need or want the ability to throw...
Iāve been averaging around 31.5mpg on my digital display on my 2.0EB XL, so Iām guessing Iām about 30-30.5mpg based on previous readings. Iāve been using eco mode and really babying it (accelerating and braking slowly, trying to keep it between 40 and 70 as often as possible) to see what I can...
My Maverick only gets an average of 1-3mpg better than my 2011 Ford Fusion, but Iām not comparing savings against that vehicle because I really wanted a truck.
Instead, Iām comparing against other trucks. Right now I would be doing well to get into a well-used base model crew cab Nissan...
I like the Santa Cruz and think itās a very cool Ute. Might have crossed shopped one too, if it werenāt for the fact that Hyundai seems to be focusing on the higher-end of the market (35k+). I got a Maverick XL EB FWD with the only options being a tow hitch and moonroof, which was cheaper than...
