  1. What changes to Maverick engineering would you like for the next evolution?

Yep. I'm convinced the hybrid system itself is solid (based on my experience with previous vehicles as well as the Maverick). Ford just needs to fix 12v charging.
  2. Black 2025 Maverick XL build with aluminum topper.

Looks good. Anybody who makes a special seat for their pup is ok in my book.
  3. Rear ended time!

It's to compensate for the owner's tiny pen.... Oh sorry, I should just shut up now.
  4. A lurker emerges

Thanks for coming out of the shadows—I had the feeling someone was lurking just out of sight 😉. Welcome to MTC. Sorry to hear about your '24 XLT, but your new Lariat looks great.
  5. OIL Change Discrepancy

Agree it shouldn't matter until cold weather, but you have to ask yourself why would a tech not double check the oil spec when the VIN lookup returned a different value than that on the filler cap (and I assume the shop manual). I know oil changes are entry level work, but that inattention to...
  6. One Sad Bastard

Wallow in the sadness. Go for 1K! 😉
  7. Does anyone else find that the ADAS Black Box and the resulting lower placement of the rearview mirror really obstruct your view in certain instances?

I haven't found it to obstruct my view, but I'm fairly short (although I have the driver's seat at the maximum height). Maybe it's more of an issue for taller people.
  8. Another recall

Maybe this will spark an uplifting discussion on how stoopid backup cameras (and maybe seat belts and self-adjusting brakes) are. Hoping against hope that it doesn't.
  9. Downsizing after all these years

Hello and welcome! Nice looking truck.
  10. SLATE Truck Debut! Convertible From Pickup to SUV. Priced Under $20K With Federal Incentive

Thanks for posting the pics and sharing your impressions. I don't think the Slate would be a good fit for me personally, but I love to see companies inovate, and I particularly like Slate's attempt to deliver an affordable, utilitarian, and modular vehicle.
  11. Greetings from the land of tall trees and mosquitos

Howdy, and welcome! Love the description of your location in your profile. I think you've got everything covered.🙂
  12. New to Hybrid. What to expect?

As icegradner noted, the brakes feel a little different and take a lighter touch. Early Maverick hybrid drivers reported that the transition from regenerative to conventional braking was very rough and abrupt, but I've not found this to be the case with my '24. I suggest displaying the brake...
  13. Driving by Braille: Stick-on tactile bumps to help locate & operate touch controls

Seems like a big assumption that touch screens will necessarily be the UI of choice in 20 years. Maybe by then younger people will snicker at those ancient Millennials who express any reluctance to get the neural implant required to be part of the truly connected society, or at the eccentrics...
  14. Driving by Braille: Stick-on tactile bumps to help locate & operate touch controls

Clever solution. "Driving by Braille" is certainly an attention-grabbing title. 🙂
  15. Considering a new 2025 Ford Maverick XLT

You might want to test drive a hybrid to help answer the question: "Which makes me happier, the extra acceleration or 10 more mpg?" With either version, I think you'll enjoy the improved gas mileage, ease of parking, etc. compared to the F-150. Good luck!
  16. This may not be a popular thread and I’ll probably be put down but who cares!

I've always thought that '55-'57 Chevies were some if the best looking cars ever.
  17. This may not be a popular thread and I’ll probably be put down but who cares!

I'm so old I got the Dagmar reference. I was just a young lad when she was on television, but I'd started to notice certain features on...cars.
  18. My theory of Mavericks getting rear ended

Looks good. I know you're glad to be (mostly) done fooling with this. Now it's time to enjoy your Maverick.
  19. What was the first thing you bought for your Maverick?

Floor mats. Carpet in a truck makes as much sense as carpet in a bathroom.
