Ford is no slouch either you should Google the history. Ford and Toyota cross license each other's patents for the hybrid components. Only reason I felt comfortable buying the lariat hybrid.
It's the new Toyota reliability. Combining turbos with a hybrid motor. Unless it has some mind blowing mpg figures don't know why you would add the complication. Turbo is already complicated enough. It beats out the raptor by a little on the torque but now you have to deal with a hybrid...
Dunno. This will be the first time that the taco will have real competition with the gm twins, the Frontier is the only NA V6 option left, and Ford launched a newly designed truck instead of an old tired design from another a market which prior to that they weren't even offering anything. So...
They lifted seat by 1.5" which doesn't sound like they really fixed the seating position so no idea until you actually sit in one. Watched the whole thing seemed pretty meh. Liked the cooled seats but that was about it.
But the biggest selling point is the resale value and reliability! That's after they overpay for the truck especially with adm and have been living with terrible mpg in an uncomfortable cabin for years! Who thinks they are going to get the new taco for msrp? Saw on a youtube live the other...
That will be the day when Toyota sells an entry level truck with a hybrid powertrain as standard. Not happening unless the upcharge is built into MSRP.
Exactly most of the people who talk about the tacos capabilities off road will use it very rarely if ever just because of the price of the truck. 95% of the time it will be hauling air in traffic with terrible mpg.
I have my doubts on the hybrid being tuned for efficiency my evidence being the Tundra where they tuned it for performance because that's what everyone thinks when they hear Toyota hybrid ๐ but we will see. Even if the hybrid efficiency is close enough for you I'm thinking there will be a hefty...
Will be interesting as the last ranger was not designed for the NA market. Now with a fresh design we will see if it exceeds expectations. So far not impressed with the leaked photos. Prefer the Ranger or gm twins from the front. Multiple reviewers have mentioned a more comfortable seat in...
