I think you can rule out the drain by checking the battery right after a trip. It show more charge after a trip, compare to before. If it does not, that means it's not being charged during the trip.

The other thread indicated bad/loose connection on the black wire that connects the charger to the battery -ve cable, you might want to check that. It's right next to the +ve terminal under the hood, it has a plastic flip up cover with DO NOT JUMP markings.

I forgot something, with this cover in closed position the bed gate can be opened/closed. The cover has 2 position, closed or open 2/3 of the way (clips in). Can not keep it in place and open all the way, like some other hard covers, you would just take it off at that point. No tools...

Where in the harness is the bad/weak connection? Mine has not had issues, no messages but I only have 500 miles, but had for about 1.5 months.

I got factory spray in and right side is falling off. Looks like they broke the plastic tabs that go in the hole to hold it in, while taking off for spray liner. I will silicone glue both in place.

I would pick if rav4 hybrid was offered with similar price and options as hybrid xl, even for $3k more. Entry point is big difference in price.

Most likely this issue is on all hybrids. I don’t use remote start or warm up for long time. Typically keep the temp at 68. And have less than 500 miles, so I haven’t experienced the issue, smell or surging idle. Hopefully ford figures it out and corrects it soon.
