I'd wait and see on 16" wheels. Especially if you are going with the 4K tow package, I know it doesn't state it but the brakes may be larger on the Maverick since it is designed to haul more than the Bronco Sport and has a higher payload.
Donut tires main danger are that the average driver is uneducated in their use. Many neglect them and they dry rot, or they use them to replace a front wheel that had a flat, or speed on them, or overuse them. Fully expecting them to act as a replacement for the real thing and not taking into...
What's under the little rubber mat thingy? Any holes? I'm thinking about designing a light switch gang box and would love a place to run wire without drilling into a brand new car!
Do tell!
I expect to see Ford flood the floor this year with Bronco/Sport/Maverick. Maverick is just at that perfect cross hair of price, performance and functionality.
Traditionally in Fords L locks the transmission to 1st gear for better ratios in cases where maximum traction is need such as snow/mud/sand/deep gravel (Most others put the transmission in 2nd gear which allows for too much spin IMO)
I don't believe I've seen that the Maverick has...
I believe the 225/65/17 is the Pirelli Scorpion ATR which is what is used on the Bronco Sport. I haven’t seen really any good reviews for them as an AT. Most people say they have terrible mud and snow traction. Sad they didn’t go with Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus which is a significantly better tire.
Since I'll likely be making my Maverick an off-road/softroad/overland focused build if I buy it I've been pouring over the specs and Ford is either under-reporting the ground clearance or the break-over angle. 8.6" of ground clearance on a 121.1" wheelbase is 16.2 degrees not the 18.1 Ford has...
I'll likely just hold off on the $800 upcharge for the passenger rated 235/65/17 Falken Wildpeak, stick with the 225/65/17 and spend $800 on some much taller LT all terrain tires out of my own pocket. I actually really like the black wheels included with the FX4 package and it's a shame the tire...
I spoke with a rep from Traxda today, who makes some pretty great lifts and they’re no stranger to lifting unibody trucks since they have a 3.5” lift kit for the Ridgeline. They said they already have a prototype for a lift kit that should work on the Bronco Sport and the Maverick!
This is likely made of HDPE (think plastic cutting board) which is good up to temps of 180 F. If you combine this with some HDPE marine grade sheets you could build a hell of a double tier storage platform! HDPE Marine Grade Board
I understand that there SHOULD be a discount, but on Ford's end at scale you're probably talking $50-100 difference in parts. So they'd MAYBE offer you a discount of $20-40 dollars. Frustrating I know, but not uncommon when it comes to equipment bundles.
Sadly no. If you get the 4K on top of the FX4 (which I’m planning to do as well(y)) they are adding a 3.81 drive ratio, 7 pin trailer connector with integrated brake controller, and a transmission cooler on top of all the FX4 goodies. Since these are factory installed not port or dealer...
My wife and I are sold on Cactus Gray. I also like Hot Pepper red but the strong orange hue to it got vetoed instantly:D I’ve always wanted a lighter colored vehicle, but white would be too boring on the Maverick and I don’t really care for silver. Love that it’s a mix between Toyota’s Lunar...
This is why I put a scangauge II in my Outback. You can have 4 fields displayed at once. I have coolant temp, cvt fluid temp, intake air temp and voltage. For whatever the Outback came with 2 mpg gauges, one where a temp gauge should be and the other on the dash. I’ll definitely be moving it...
Cheap utility that can haul some and tow some well within my expected use, with plenty interior space and modern equipment that doesn’t kill my budget for gas or car payments.
