Have been a long-time boater the plastic tube down the dipstick tube with a pump on inboard motors is very common. As I remember there is also a rubber boot that goes over the dipstick tube that sucks out oil from the tube, years ago but didn't get the gunk from the bottom of the oil pan but...

Imho it's not the non-union employees.... if anything, it will be the teamsters not crossing the picket lines to transport parts, supplies and finished Mavericks across the boarder just my to cents.
