I do use non ethanol fuels in all my small engines such as weed eater, leaf blower, etc. Which are not designed for ethanol fuels.
I do not use ethanol free in any of my vehicles. The cost differential is way too much. You will get about 3% better MPG using ethanol free, but it's always priced...
Here are my thoughts:
1. Agree on changing the factory oil early. I did mine something like 500 miles. Conventional is inferior to full synthetic. With that being said I think you are being a little too conservative with your future intervals. Modern synthetic oil is pretty amazing stuff and...
I hear ya. I had a hybrid on order from 2021 and had to switch to an Ecoboost and luckily got built early this year. Happy with the Ecoboost mpgs - averaging 28 to 32mpg, but I have a 2023 hybrid on order because that's what I originally wanted
Have you seen a lithium ion battery torn apart? A single "battery" is made up of multiple battery "cells". Ford may create the battery (a bunch of cells wired together and put in a housing) but they certainly don't manufacture the cells. Most Li-ion battery cells are made by companies like CATL...
Ford does not build their own maverick batteries or CVTs. Most automakers nowadays really only assemble vehicles from parts made by hundreds of suppliers around the world. This is why everyone is always yelling about "supply chain issues".
Automakers rely on reliable production of thousands...
My take is that if the warranty was worth it for the consumer, they wouldn't offer it. Extended warranties are the biggest moneymakers for dealerships.
Sure there are lemons out there that experience catastrophic and expensive failures of drivetrain components, but such failures are often...
I have an XLT Ecoboost and am loving the mpgs I'm getting. Routinely averaging 30 to 31mpg per tank. I have a 2023 hybrid on order and can't wait to also get 50mpg
Agreed. I understand the argument that some don't have the means to afford evacuation (gas, hotel bills, etc) but I see over $120K worth of vehicles in this picture. Clearly had the means to take important belongings and leave
My car got totalled out also due to minor damage (mine wasn't a new maverick though) and I bought the car from insurance for scrap value and fixed it myself. I would consider doing the same if I were you. Sounds like you'll be paid over 25k minus 12k scrap to walk away with your minor damaged...
It's very much true. I have an Ecoboost and I'm still being offered 4k over through vroom/caravana. I assume when he said base maverick he meant a hybrid, and those are worth even more. Dealers are marking used mavericks up 8 to 10k and they are selling. Private party can fetch the same
I have similar results to cactusgray's. Lifetime average (6k miles) is 28 to 29mpg with something like 50 to 60% highway. Keep in mind I also try to drive efficiently. Everyone else on the road that accelerates past me to the next red light will get 23 to 24mpg and that's why you'll see a...
It all depends on what options you have. On a 25 to 26k maverick the x plan will save you about 300 to 500 off MSRP On a more expensive ~35k lariat build it may be closer to 1k
