Dealers have been dealing with rail dust since cars started being made.
This is why high end cars have a plastic sheet on them to keep the dust off. It is a easy fix, clay bar will remove it. When I was a young lad I did this for the dealer I worked at while in high school.
Yes but how big is this gap if the bed liner didn't even fill it in? Not sure if something is not lined up correctly or not which can cause issue in the future.

Just hit 1k on it and I have to say I am loving it. Rides great compared to my Wrangler. Love how easy it is to put item in and out the back of it. Gas mileage is better than I excepted so far. Will see how it does with Three grown men plus golf bags and luggage on a long ride.
