Bringing up an old thread, but for those saying the Ridgeline is closer to a full size truck....have you driven a full size truck? The Ridgeline feels tiny compared to them. 20" difference in length between a Ridgeline and crew cab 150. The nose on the Ridgeline is shorter and easier to judge...
Curious why run your items this way vs with the gate partially down, all the way down, or prop it up against the closed tailgate? I wouldn't want to haul my load this way. What are the dimensions, 10'?
curious would you modify the first option so it doesn't sit as high? I'm considering it and chopping it down, but from what I can see there's bolts running vertical into the vertical pipe which might be a concern. Can keep one set of vertical bolts and chop the other end, depending how thick...
I think you just prefer RWD, but I see almost no way a RWD truck is going to hang with a FWD, even with both cars having snows on...unless you have 1k lbs in the rear for traction. I have a 98 F150, aggressive tires, RWD, and had 320+lbs of sand and swore I'd never take it out in the snow...
RWD trucks suck. I'd never own one again unless it was a warm weather pavement queen. RWD sports cars though are where it's at.
Ford was right to have a FWD version, which first got me interested because of the low price point but still be able to handle snow. RWD Maverick wouldn't make...
Wanted to follow up. Now that my maverick has a build date I'm trying to have everything lined up to put it to work. Can you send me which rack you bought and any pictures? I need the utility of the rack but also don't want the vehicle to look too commercial as it's also the family car...
Finally got scheduled. Carbon grey, XL, EB, AWD, 4k. End of March, hopefully I'll have it by mid April.
Looking forward to consolidating vehicles (SUV and single cab pickup). Time to research which wheels I'm going to go with as I'm not a fan of the steelies, and which bed rack/ladder rack...
Every time I get frustrated waiting for a Maverick, I check out one of the several rangers on the lot, and no matter what the ranger just isn't worth it for me. At the price point of a crew cab 4x4 ranger ($39k or so IIRC), I'd spend a bit more for an f150, consider a tacoma, or any other...
I'm with you on this. Timing belt/waterpump replacement isn't going to be that much different from a turbo replacement when you hit those miles....or dealing with a vacuum leak like I did with my last turbocharged car...what a pain that was. Hybrid has a potential battery replacement cost...
Wow, this got more replies than I expected. Some good points with the bed extender as an option, and also that I can park the Mav in the garage and still have room to work on it when it's time to swap winter tires
Clearly the Maverick can do a lot and is very versatile, but I guess I'll have...
This was another option I considered for any long materials, but if I'm sinking $1k into a bed rack/roof rack over the cab hopefully won't need this extender. I could fab up some side walls, netting, and plywood for the base along with this extender and add a fair amount of storage if need be.
I'm looking to place an order, and have checked the Maverick out in person a few times. The price is right, 4 door is great for the kids, maneuverability, MPG even with Ecoboost, but my biggest concern is that I'm compromising on the truck bed and will be annoyed by the size more often than...
