I had an issue where the cable would want to ride on top of metal plate holding the dampener end to the tailgate thus making the cable protrude through the crack between the tailgate and the box.
Here are photos of the fix. Heavy duty rubber band.
Sure did. They had drivers side not correct and then forced the sliding trim piece into buckle denting it and turned the plastic white where it was stressed. They replaced that trim piece FOC.
With your mentioning that you noticed the change with AC engaged……was it the first time you used the AC for the season?
I noticed the same thing with a rise in ambient temperature above around 40F or so. Could your experience not be so much related to AC use but a rise in temperatures seasonally.
As previously posted in numerous threads about this exact same thing with mine, I first noticed this about 3 months after taking delivery. In October in WI. I have noticed the severity get less as we got out of brutal winter temperatures. Almost not noticeable once about about 40F. Today was 80...
your not describing the issue at hand unfortunately. We are not talking about an unbalanced tire but rather an upshift into 6th gear at low speeds yielding a lugging of the drivetrain at < 14-1500 rpm’s.
Disappointing for sure cause normal mode is mostly good in that it generally keeps rpm’s at 1500 or higher which is it’s sweet spot. I have a 2001 ranger I4 manual 5 speed and it’s sweet spot is 2000rpms or higher. Current MAVs try and make power below 1500 in way to high of gear at slower...
would love to know what that dealer has to say. This seems to be the case with all 2.0 MAVs and normal mode def needs a tweaking by Ford. It’s good usually but sometimes upshift when it shouldn’t resulting in lugging/vibration. I have the same thing with mine and have found tow/haul to be a...
Agreed on all counts. It’s BS that we have to deal with this and the trucks been out for over a year.
They better address this as well due to future warrantee claims of drivetrain / engine damage to owners that aren’t sensitive to this issue.
in my view that’s what he is prob referring to. The proverbial problem with the 2.0 and current TMC programming that yields to high of gear in many situations in normal mode.
Ford needs to get on this.
Indeed, you should notice on decelerations a downshift right at the 36 and 25/26 mph ……..then hold it right there exactly.
The ironic thing it keeps one from getting a speeding ticket LOL.
30mph will always result in a luging situation as previously stated so if on extended 30mph drive switch...
Mine does the exact same thing. It’ll decide to upshift when it was just fine at 15/1600 rpm yielding 11/1200 rpm and “lug” until you press down on the accelerator. VERY annoying. Shift sequence on acceleration say 0-60 is perfect. What I have found is that in general a speed ending in a 5 and...
