I’m no mechanic or engineer but I just doubt that would happen in this situation. Did not look or feel overloaded driving.
I did make sure the weight was evenly dispersed and drove real slow.
I’d bet payload calculations are based on people driving at highway speeds with uneven loads, as...
yeah definitely overloaded by a bit, I’d say total weight was 1600lb.
I don’t plan on doing it often but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Was a rather easy ride home thru the city, never got over 35 mph so figured I was ok.
Did my first big haul today in the Maverick and used my new rack system as well. 1200lb of gravel and 8 - 2x4's. Rode pretty low but honestly Tow/Haul mode made it feel like no big deal. Ride is just so smooth.
Everything coming together nicely, just need my Tonneau cover to get here so I can...

i think that’s a spoiler of sort. I really dislike it, and pretty much the whole damn thing actually. I usually don’t care one way or another, but this reaction was immediate.
Yes absolutely you can use a drill and adjust your torque perfectly to this specific job. Just be ready to potentially re-do the work by over-torquing accidentally. It only takes a second with a power tool. Then your 10 minute job turns into 20-30 minutes.
I use drills and drivers daily so I...
Here is the full setup. Now I just need Bak to ship the Tonneau cover and I’ll be GTG.
Very easy to remove the rail sets once everything aligned appropriately. The tightening to the rail is a knob so you just hand loosen both sides and they slide right out.
I made a mistake during install so I...
I’m adding the back rack today, but yes I may go with just 2 most of the time. Because the back rack can be adjusted on the fly I can space them however I want.
Starting the engine. Accessory mode, which is just powering without the engine does not power the outlets. I have the Lariat with push button, so I don’t have On, but if you press the ignition without foot on break it’s effectively the same, Accessory mode.
Tried to use a air pump today to fill up my tires and realized the AC outlets, I have 2 with Lariat Lux package, don’t work in Accessory mode…
Had to turn the car on just to run the outlets, I could have sworn the tech guy at the Ford dealer said they would work in accessory mode for things...
Just did this install.
Quick and easy, much better reverse lighting now. One recommendation I have is to use a regular screw driver to reassemble the taillight. I was using a driver and it overtorqued a bit when putting the light back on pulling the taillight slightly out of line.

should be fine, depends on how much clearance from the bedside the extender has as it rotates, the elevate rail system plus the tonneau rail will add about 3/8 of an inch max to the inner top rail. The biggest issue might be the inner rail clamps towards the the tailgate.
Happy to help the community and get the setup I’m looking for at the same time.
2 more videos below and got the first set installed, pic at the bottom. My rack was missing 2 pieces for the other vertical/crossbars so I could not install, will be coming Monday.
and the Bak X4s won’t ship until...
I think all of their rack/cover angry elephant packages use the elevate rail except for the retrac system, at least for trucks without stake hole/pockets like the Mav.
angry elephant is the p3000 rack, and has its own rail but that rail needs to be bolted to the rail, which would mean drilling...
