This prototype model looks a little better than that ST nightmare, but those black highlights under the headlights have me scratching my head. Looks like the Ford designers might be aging Alice Cooper fans.
I saw the recall notification in FordPass last week, and got the recall letter in the mail today. i have just over 1,000 miles on he truck and was already planning to take it to the dealer for the first oil change and to have the other fluid levels checked. So I'll have them take care of the...
I can't speak to the Tremor's capabilities but my initial impressions of the Fx4 with the optional Wildpeaks is that it does pretty well as long as you're careful to stay out of deep ruts from other vehicles, due to the limited ground clearance. I keep a shackle hitch receiver under the back...
Looks great! Did you have a level kit on it before you installed the spring lift? The 'before' pic looks like the truck has a more level stance than stock.
I never cared for the look or practicality of a lowered truck, but I have to say yours looks really nice! The chrome wheels against the solid white body is very appealing. Nice job!
There's something about the Maverick's body design that seems to allow for a more natural look when lowered...
What I did is wait until the truck arrived and made an appt with the salesman to check it out before it was prepped. I told him right then I didn't want a front plate bracket installed, and he attached a note to the truck saying DO NOT MOUNT FRONT BRACKET TO TRUCK! so the prep crew wouldn't miss...
I’m not sure it’s a “Ford glitch” as your salesperson indicated. My fx4 WS had the same option listed. Not sure what it means—maybe it refers to the hood decal?
I'd be looking for another dealer by now--in Charlotte, Cola or anywhere in the Carolinas. I ordered an EB XLT in October last year and got it a month ago. I don't know why yours should be taking so long, unless there's something particularly unusual about the XL trim combined with CP360.
Dude needs to cut back on the caffeine; I couldn't handle more than 30 seconds of that rant.
As for contemporary auto paint, I'd call it sort of a low gloss enamel, similar to a lot of the 60s and 70s cars and trucks. Except candy colors were more popular then. I'll take the earth tones over...
I got the OEM mat (pictured) because it was free using my pass points. It’s a perfect fit even with a SIBL. I’ve also seen the RC mat and it’s comparable to the Ford mat in thickness and fit. Either one should easily last the life of your truck.
I'd start with a bed mat; Ford OEM ($160) or Rough Country ($100) are very good choices. And you can always use them on top of a drop-in or other liner if you decide to get something else down the road. The mats will help keep your lumber from sliding around in the bed.
I also chose the premium care plan through Granger, during their February special. The main advantage of that plan is the coverage of electronic issues that are likely to trigger the 'check engine' warning. That alone could cost hundreds of dollars to dx and repair. I got the 10 year coverage...
First thing I'd do is check with your dealer to be sure they submitted your order to Ford, along with your correct email. You should have gotten several emails from FMC by now:
1st one as soon as the order was sent in (that day or shortly thereafter). That email indicates that FMC has received...
Oh okay, you must have the lux pkg. Mine came standard w/o a liner so I got the SIBL and added a bed mat to keep cargo from sliding around.
BTW since you’re adding aftermarket items. I think a black fx4 decal would look great with that cactus gray.
