I totally get that! I was in the pitchfork crowd while waiting 13 months for the first one when people who ordered months after me got theirs. This time I was there first in line to get my order in. My dealer ordered one and he is still waiting in line for a build date. It's frustrating but...
Sort of a lousy picture, it's a blizzard here right now but the one on the right is my '22, and the one on the left is my wifes '23. Both XL's One Area 51 and the other Carbonized Gray.
Picked up my 23 XL Hybrid last night. Was originally scheduled with a Jan 2-8 delivery window. Got the call yesterday morning that he had the keys in his hand and the truck was in for final prep and cleaning. This one went WAY faster and smoother than my 22 Mav did.
We seriously thought about getting the Corolla for my wife. After she drove my Maverick a few times and saw the gas mileage I was getting, we decided to order another Maverick for her. Just got my email letting me know it should be delivered between Jan 2 - 8.
Nothing against the Corolla but...
Nice try. It got a lot colder here a month before I put the 88 in my truck. The mileage was steady when we were in the low 20's here. It wasn't until I put the 88 in it that the mileage dropped off a cliff.
No brainwashing at all by "big oil". Just my experience with it, that's all. No...
I accidentally put a tank of 88 in my hybrid last week. It made a significant drop in my mileage. Was seeing 42 MPG average on the gauge. With this junk fuel it dropped to around 35-36 MPG. Can't wait until I get this junk burned up and refuel with 87. That extra 5% ethanol makes a lot more...
Priority 10 vs 19 doesn't seem to mean all that much. Mine was a 19 and my window sticker posted last weekend. My scheduled build week is Nov 28. Ordered 9-16.
I ordered an MY23 (not a 22 rollover) XL Hybrid on 9-16. Got the email last month with a production week of 11-28. Just checked and mine is in production as we speak with a window sticker available. So they are starting to build them. At least the website says they are! It's Ford so you...
I got the email last month letting me know that my XL was put in the schedule for the week of 11/28 as well. I also fully expected it to get pushed back a few times. Since this is my second Maverick, I'm not nearly as invested in keeping track of it as I was the first time through. Once you've...
I live in western PA and have the same salt issue. After owning a 2005 Tundra (AKA - Rust magnet) that I bought new and seeing how bad the rust was on it, I learned my lesson. I spent some very quality time under my Maverick with 6 cans of fluid-film. Got it in every nook and cranny I could...
I totally agree with this. We have been doing this for almost 35 years now and have never had to buy a car on payments in that time. When you have no car payment you can save that money for the next one. But, it really only works if you have the discipline to not only save the money but also to...
There have been a lot of buyers who have waited longer than you have been waiting. I'm one of them. I waited 13 months to get mine and the whole time I was seeing people who ordered a lot later than me get their Mavericks long before mine finally got built. Mine was a plane Jane XL too so no...
I live just south of Erie and have been watching the Buffalo news all weekend thanking God that that just missed us! Lived 14 years south of Rochester and remember very vividly digging out of deep snow many times. Not 6' - 7' of it though so.... I do however remember a couple of 5'+ dig-outs...
Sorry for the loss. That's gotta hurt since it's your work vehicle. I've hit a couple of deer over my life and can confirm they really do come out of nowhere and reaction time can be non-existent. I remember the first one I hit, it was around midnight and I was doing around 60 mph when it...
The VIN is in the email for scheduling. The window sticker will come when it goes to production. At least that is how it worked when I got my 22 XL in July. The email I got yesterday has the VIN but when I tried to look at the window sticker, it isn't created yet.
Same here. I paid cash for the one I got earlier this year and will be paying cash for the one I get this winter. I hate debt and really hate paying interest.
You're correct. I should have used MSRP through the entire post. I know the difference, just got sloppy. Usually when people say they got something at "invoice" price, they actually mean sticker price/MSRP. That's what I was talking about. If a dealer is selling for less than invoice, he...
Oh yes, they are very real. Lived in Wyoming for several years and they roamed in packs late fall every year. I had my pre-collision kick in just a few weeks after I got my Mav. Some fool cut in front of me from the left lane (I was in the right lane) then slam on the brakes to make a right...
