Its so you cant just pull the hood release and have the hood blow open while driving. You have to be stopped and the door open to pull the lever and open the hood. Most of the ones with a secondary latch under the hood you have to fumble for you can open with the door closed, I figure its a...
What you are seeing isnt the tinted clear coat missing, its a part of the truck that never really gets seen so its not even painted except what gets over sprayed, the gray is just the primer, not even the base color coat.
Also look at a mid 2000's Chevy Colorado, they are very similar in size, although the Maverick is a bit bigger in most dimensions. But you get an idea of how big (or small) they are.
That's about the look I am going for. I don't really care for machined faced wheels, but those look great. I am looking at getting some 20's also and was looking at the same size tire. They are still pretty close to stock height. I am going to go more of an all Black look, so Black painted...
Ford quite taking orders for Hybrid Mavericks on the 15th of November, still can order EcoBoost ones. Ford underestimated the want/need for the Hybrids and had to stop taking orders for them until next summer sometime.
I don't know if I will miss much. Coming from an 04 Dodge Dakota and a 2001 Ford Mustang. Neither had all the tech that the Maverick has, they had plain old fashion key start so I won't miss not having the push button start. I might miss the 4x4 in the Dakota but only used it a couple times...
Chip Foose is an amazing artist, car and truck designer and seems to just be a great down to earth guy. Watched when he had the show Overhaulin and he designed and made some awesome vehicles for some well deserving people.
I bought the Maverick to replace two vehicles. One was a 2001 Ford Mustang that I only drove on nice days and the other was a 2004 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab that I drove during the winter and days I didn't drive the Mustang. I wanted something I could drive year round and get good fuel mileage and...
Wow what a waste of time. He didnt really talk about how it drove or anything like that. Did mention that it had decent power and was fairly comfortable but nothing else. He really needs to do more research before he puts out more videos, no where is it written or said that the Mav has a 50 mile...
I have always wanted to restore a car the year I was born, 1972, and now that I have the 2022 Ford Maverick on order I have thought about doing a 1972 Ford Maverick. I think it would be cool to have the Mavericks both new and one from 50 years ago. I would probably do up the 72 Mav mostly stock...
Not doing anything drastic with mine. I have the Truxedo Soft Roll up Cover for it, K&N Air Filter, RocBlokz Mud Guards, changing out the stock CHMSL to a Smoked LED, changing the back up lights to LED, getting the Smoked Bug Guard for the hood, the Tailgate Assist, the Maverick Logo Sun Screen...
I think I was one of the lucky ones to get scheduled last week. Thank goodness, I ordered 7-2-21. Hybrid XLT with the Lux Package and 360. Good things do come to those that wait patiently.
They are actually the same air filter. Sure it says they are different in the Owners Manual but if you cross the filter numbers over to say Wix they both cross to the same number in the Wix a WA-10981. Cross that to a K&N and its goes to the 33-3131.
