  1. Cache Basecamp tailgate pad doesn’t currently fit the maverick

Just a heads up, I ordered this awesome tailgate pad for bikes that doubles as a 2 seat lounge with a cooler, (Cache Basecamp 2.0) and despite their website saying it would fit, it does not. Nice guys, cool company, they refunded me right away, so no love lost, I’m just bummed because it’s so...
  2. Thinking about cutting off the wind deflectors

Finally removed those front wind deflectors. Took about 12 minutes with a 7mm socket wrench. Reinstalled 3 screws on each side to keep the wheel well material flush, and I’ll be adding some black gaff tape underneath to cover the holes. I’ll keep you posted on MPG difference or feel difference...
  3. Installed Carr 5 inch folding step hitch

I got it from realtruck for like $80. It does not extend past the tail gate when it is down. This is a step up and over situation. Sounds annoying, but it’s great. It folds up nice and easy too. I can imagine if you need the tailgate down a lot for long cargo, that won’t work. But it’s an...
  4. Retractable bumber step?

I’m super happy with this - https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/installed-carr-5-inch-folding-step-hitch.43174/ Not the same exactly, but does the trick… cheers
  5. Easy to keep clean, a fringe benefit

This might sound like a dumb post, but I wanted it to live here for people who are considering getting a Maverick. An unforeseen huge plus in my opinion is how easy it is to wipe this truck down and keep it clean. I wash it, and basically maintain that wash by just wiping it down and or hitting...
  6. Navigating the North Shore of Long Island

Wet one today delivering guitars to client on the North Shore. Can’t wait for tailgate weather. Cheers from NY!
  7. Thinking about cutting off the wind deflectors

Thanks, when I have a free moment maybe this weekend or next, I’m gonna remove them first and see whats up. Thx!
  8. It's such a awesome vehicle - I don't understand any of the complaints.

I’m 3 months in on my 23 XLT FX4. I love this truck. There are some quirks and minor things I don’t love or things I think could have been better thought out, but overall, I love driving it, being in it, and looking at it. Suspension components really felt like they broke in nicely after the...

  11. Thinking about cutting off the wind deflectors

I’m 50/50 on this so far, keep em coming! I don’t want to lose mpg, I’m already averaging 18 with my heavy foot, but I f*ckin hate those flaps!
  12. Thinking about cutting off the wind deflectors

If I remove them, there will be exposed holes correct? Where the lights are?
  13. Thinking about cutting off the wind deflectors

I feel the same way. I think I’m gonna cut mine, so I keep the exposed holes closed etc. thx!
  14. Thinking about cutting off the wind deflectors

Hey all, I’m seriously considering taking my dremel to the wind deflectors/ front flaps on my xlt fx4. I’ve already bottomed out on them a few times on speed bumps. I saw a guy on YouTube cut his off, and the truck has a cleaner look for sure and better ground clearance. My question for the...

  16. Best Hard Bedcovers?

I have the same one, I’m happy with it, but if you get, double up the weather stripping all around and in the tail gate gaps. I think it’s slightly over priced for what it is, but so far for the last 2 months, it’s been operating seamlessly. Lastly, keep a butter knife handy, icing to the cover...
  17. Hitch step or hitch bumper guard recommendations ???

Just made a recent post regarding this… the Carr 5 inch folding hitch step rules…. Cheers
  18. Installed Carr 5 inch folding step hitch

Thanks, yeah that would be helpful, but for me it’s more about having an additional buffer before someone can get to my bumper. This method so far has been great for me, a quick step up to the bumper and I’m stepping over, not bad. Cheers
