I tend to agree with you. To me, the entire system is overly automated and does far too much nannying, but I suspect every new vehicle is now like that. I don't mind having a fail-safe like automatic braking as long as a fail-safe is strictly what it is, meaning that it is confined to an...
This is an Android phone, and it gets powered off every evening and powered back on every morning. Neither Play Store nor the app itself told me that the upgrade required a reboot. I tried to open the app 3x, and each attempt failed with "unexpected error", I then rebooted and after that it...
That's informative. However, I have a devil's advocate question about "imminence". If the system is capable of deciding that there is a collision risk to warn about where none actually exists, why shouldn't I suspect that it might also be capable of deciding that a non-existent collision risk is...
Plenty of notice is a good thing, having the computer apply the brakes unexpectedly and without need would not be... I stumbled across another thread here on this issue by accident (funny that search didn't find that one) that indicated that this particular false alarm is not all that rare. A...
I'll try to remember to look next time I'm in the truck. It's been pretty cold here, I haven't been looking for excuses to get outside :-) As I mentioned, though, what I found does not appear to work consistently. Maybe Murphy is in my truck's computer. Yesterday I thought I'd use the phone app...
I thought I had found an option and programmed my 2025 XL 2.0 to lock the doors automatically when I got out and walked away with the fob. It seemed to do that successfully for about 2 days, then stopped. Now it seems to do it once in a while, on a whim...
I was driving my granddaughter to piano practice yesterday afternoon in my 2025 XL 2.0 ICE AWD that is equipped with the tow package and the Co-pilot 360 option that is usually associated with that. We were cruising at about 45 mph on a 2-lane blacktop road, nearest vehicle in front or behind...
I seem to recall seeing roof rack setups for SUVs (Toyota 4Runner, I think) that have (or had, it's been a while)an air deflector in front of the forward-most bar. Think that might help?
Just FWIW. I bought a 60" x 96" x 1/4" Red Barn utility/stall mat at Tractor Supply a couple of weeks ago, and took advantage of a relatively warm day yesterday to mark and cut it (used a combination of utility knife and upholstery shears) for a bed mat. Came out pretty good: I did cut about...
Late in on this thread, sorry. I'm considering making a DIY rack of my own. I don't have or plan to have a tonneau. It looks to me from the photos here and on the Real Truck site that the Elevate TS rails (and presumably the rails included on the Truxedo cover, as well) are really basically...
Pretty soon I will be cutting up a 6' x 9' rubber mat to cover the bed floor and tailgate. I am capable of measuring the bed floor accurately (including the wheel well intrusions) if I need to, but if someone has already done that and posted the results somewhere on this site, I'd be more than...
Ahhhhh... Lisdexia for cure have found I. My 4Runner rear seats fold as I described, the Maverick as you (and others) have described. Embarrassing. Sorry for wasting everyone's time...
I had already looked at those. They are still one piece covers, but look like the loops around the rear head rests could be unlatched and the cover folded forward out of the way of seat operation fairly easily. If I can't find two-piece covers, that may be my best option.
No. I want a back seat cover that has separate sections for the top and the bottom bench cushions, so that I can unlatch and pivot the bottom section forward to access the compartment beneath, as designed by Ford.
On my 2025 XL, the back edge of the bottom seat cushion is pulled up and forward so that the top of the bench rests against the backs of the front seats. This exposes the storage bin area beneath, Are not all Mavericks like this?
The subject pretty much says it. I'm looking for a waterproof rear bench seat cover that is made in separate upper and a lower parts to allow the bottom to pivot forward for access to the storage compartment beneath, with zero luck so far. Has anyone found such a thing? I guess the second best...
Exactly. Some folks seem to take themselves and their vehicles far too seriously, imo. To me, the Maverick has quite a bit in common with some of the mold-breaking vehicles from the past. 1960s VWs come to mind, and owners of those vehicles were, for the most part, quite capable of enjoying some...
