I just did this - thanks for the inspiration!
This is what I bought on Amazon:

I attached it using a bolt up high, and a couple of screws down low with lock washers.
If I had to do it again, I would use an 8x12 piece of plastic that is 1/16" thick instead, like...
I had a Chevy Spark as a car rental for a few days in May. That thing was almost a literal tin can. People actually laughed at me when they saw me in it. I’m am so, so, so… SO much happier with my Maverick.
No issues for me - 2023 Hybrid Lariat. I wonder if the Sync3 observation is correct. I also like to park in “launch position” (I back into my driveway and parking spots), so everything is usually well warmed up whenever I use my backup camera.
Sounds like you may be one of those folks that’s hoping the US will finally allow the Hilux. Write your congress critters. When it’s finally allowed, you can mod it with a gun turret and go squirrel hunting.
I actually felt that way when I first started driving my truck almost 2 months ago. I had just lost my Chevy Avalanche, which had VERY comfortable seats. I have unusually short legs for my overall height, so I have less downward reach I guess?
What I ended up needing to get used to was sitting...
Thank you!! I was being annoyed by that gap that just hits my eyes every time I look in that direction.
For anyone that is super super cheap like me, I found a normal ABS 12x12 sheet for $8 on Amazon:

It didn’t seem like the need was there for reforming the plastic with...
In case you or anyone else decides they don’t like the jangling sound, what I ended up doing was looping a black zip tie in the space where the ring connects to the mount. I pulled it tight, and I barely notice the zip tie. The rings are adequately stiffened up now.
I don’t think of it as threadjacking. He was offering a suggestion for something he really likes more than a DIPL. It’s ok - we all usually appreciate recommendations. But, good to know that’s why you are doing a DIPL.
For what it’s worth, I’d choose to buy a used truck with Line-X than one...
Here's a YouTube video with a couple of funny guys:
They removed the plastic around it, but they didn't show how they did it, unfortunately. And then at the end, one guy was about to film putting the plastic back in place, and the other one was like "No, dude! You gotta put the camera down to...
2003 Chevy Avalanche, over 200k miles. I was having trouble deciding when to make a change, and then thieves stole it and I made the move to a Maverick. I wanted something for truck stuff, but I didn’t like the size or mpgs of the Chevy. Didn’t hurt to have a technology upgrade from the 6 CD...
I’m taking my 8 and 9 year olds out for a bike ride (loved just throwing the bikes into the bed, and I turn on some great music for a perfect evening. A song came on with a decent amount of base, and my 9 year old daughter asked me why her seat was vibrating, as it was definitely an odd feeling...
Only my wife, haha. Everyone else thinks it’s great. My wife was raised in a Chevy family (FIL was a contractor), and she calls it my baby truck. She knows I can handle it - it’s all in good fun.
If anyone else makes a dumb comment about it in the future, I’ll likely look at them like they’re...
I’ve been happy with my Lariat steering wheel. Maybe do a test drive of the vehicles you are considering to know for sure what you think. It’ll be fun 🙂
