Aloha, I shipped a Jeep to Hilo from Tacoma in 2019 it was only $1300; shipped a Ford Escape again from Tacoma to HIlo in 2022 and it was half again more. Matson was used for both vehicles.
With the crazy $5-$10k markups on the islands it may be cheaper to order from a dealer on the Mainland...
01 Ranger with Mazda lipstick 4x4 is what we intended to replace, but we just put a Hurst in it and new tires on it this year, may end up keeping it to bash around the old logging roads in the Cascades.
We put a popular brand stainless cat theft deterrent shield under our Prius. It's not foolproof and someone determined will be able to get through, but so far so good.
Sounds like my 15 Prius when shifter is set to B; handy when descending long hills or coming down a mountain pass. The engine does stay on in B, and does rev high doing its regenerative engine braking thing in that mode at speed; fuel economy suffers from it as a result.
Hold on to the Prius until the head gasket goes due to the EGR being clogged (not uncommon on 2010s and 2011s). My record is 88.3 mpg on a 16 mile almost level surface highway run in my '15 three.
Bend area here. As we ordered so late, we may hit the Hatch Chile Festival in Hatch NM around Labor Day weekend after going to Dallas to visit family. May hit up Roswell Ford for a UFO plate frame as while in the area... I am not expecting to receive the Mav until this summer so planning way ahead.
Ordered a Mav EB Lariat Fx4 with tonneau, 360, 4k tow in Velocity Blue through Kendall (formerly Robberson) Ford in Bend the week before Thanksgiving; $1000 refundable deposit. Only a confirmation e-mail from Ford so far.
Volvo 240 wagons are the best. My 85 245 DL slick top M46 manual with 78 headlights/grille, IPD sway bars, IPD lowering springs, Bilsteins, Starla sport exhaust, 88 mirrors, and Virgos... after a clay bar/wax and fresh timing belt/water pump/seals/flame trap.
