Do the dealers actually place the order when you talk to them or do they just take you info and submit it to Ford at a later time? I imagine they will all be busy on the 2nd.
I don’t think he’s a bad dealer just hard to get answers from him. I don’t think they charge over msrp for orders. Plus not sure where else I would go.
This email doesn’t really say much. So my order may not be built. At this point we already knew this. I may roll it over into a MY23. But there are no details. Sounds like a last ditch attempt to get some people to drop constrained items.
Finally called the dealer today and dropped the hard roll up. It's an XLT Lux with only other option being the moon roof. I'm not changing anything else.
For $100, I’d put the money down. You may be 100th in line by the time 8/16 comes otherwise. And does anyone see these trucks getting built faster any time soon?
Whatever happened to Ford shipping trucks without all the chips and having them installed at a dealer at a later date? They decided not to go with that I guess?
I know that Ford stated here that allocations do not matter anymore and trucks will be built in order received given parts availability. But I would like to hear it from our favorite dealer. Hopefully he addresses it today in his YT video.
I found my dealer's down payment form.
It's actually called "Partial Payment and Order Confirmation". They required $1,000 for Bronco & Lightning orders and $500 for a Maverick.
Here is the text on the page:
"I understand that I am ordering a limited production vehicle that will be built...
If they can’t build all the 2022 Lux packages, how can they offer them in MY23 if the supply constraints are getting worse? I don’t want to compromise on my XLT Lux order.
I try to take care of my cars but eventually they all get nicks and scratches. But I've never owned a collector vehicle and by the time I am done with them sell them for whatever I can get, usually around $2K. I imagine the Maverick will be the same.
Which brings me to my main point here...
