Yes it's fair. Ford confirmed those orders as MY2022 models. There was no "overbooking". If Ford didn't want to build those they should not have confirmed the orders.
What we know is that the order to delivery time is getting longer not shorter. Constraints are getting worse. So yeah, I expect MY 2023 orders to take 6+ months with average probably around a year.
They did the same thing the roll overs. They did not give dealers much time to prepare and at least half of them were clueless on how to handle it. And then the MY23 order window closed in 5 days. Ford seems to be making decisions at the last minute with little communication.
I went to look at Tacomas and Santa Cruz's this weekend. I think Tacos are more truck than I need and they didn't have any Cruz's on the lot I went to. As a matter of fact they only had like 4 or 5 new Hyundai's on the lot. And the Tacos were also limited with $5k of deal add ons. I'll look...
Come January if there is no improvement on the hybrid builds I will start to seriously look at other options. Good to know that there are dealers that do no play games.
Tacomas had about $5k of dealer add-ons. $35-$40k total. Not to keen on that. If I could get one for $31k I might get it.
My issue with waiting for my Mac is that it's a hybrid order. And it looks like it's getting harder to build them every month. So who knows when I will get scheduled.
Today is my 1 year anniversary since ai placed my Mag order. I went out to look at Tacoma and Santa Cruz yesterday. Toyota dealer had a few Tacos but the Hyundai didn't have any Cruz's on the lot. Just getting ready as I will need a new car next year.
They can schedule only so many orders this week. I feel like everyone that ordered on 9/15 is expecting to get scheduled immediately. Most people are in for a long wait.
