I think the tailgate is different sheet metal. I you look at them you can see the plastic, for handle and camera, is much larger and goes all the way to the top of the tailgate.

This is so much a personal choice. The way I see it, you have to decide if you want gas mileage or more giddy up when you press the go pedal. I like the latter. I have had the 2.0 AWD setup in about 6 Fords, and love the pep. You will people that like the other. You need to go and drive both.
