I experienced a momentary - less than a second - warning in daylight. I was turning a curve and a pedestrian was walking along a sidewalk much too away to be at risk. My supposition is that the system saw the pedestrian as an eminent risk and then corrected itself. Also on an interstate in...
The motor had been off for 10 or 15 minutes and I didn’t use the fob, which was in my pocket. Second fob was nowhere near the truck. I locked it with the touch sensor on the door handle. It honked twice. I opened the door, closed it and again locked it with the touch sensor. Again, two honks. So...
I may have found the answer, in part. This is a Lariat. The horn is supposed to toot twice if you lock the door with the key fob inside. I think I pushed the manual door lock, the one near the inside door handle, before exiting. The door was already open but I was still inside. Maybe that had...
This afternoon when I locked the drivers side door using the touch sensor, the horn blew twice. I unlocked the door, relocked it the same way, and the same thing happened. I had been sitting in the truck for maybe 10 minutes. When I locked the doors after driving home, the truck remained silent...
I’m used to the beeping in a Subaru and I am slow to recognize that the steering vibration is trying to tell me something. Even on the high setting, it just feels like I have encountered a rough spot in the road. I wish I had a choice between vibration and beep. I would take the beep.
Yep. Just ordered a back seat cover this evening. Essential with the Active x seats. My dog can’t get a grip on the seat and I’m afraid if she does, she will scratch the material. And something like a blanket is useless. It instantly slides off the active x when the dog gets on it. And I mean...
pardon my lack of knowledge but the maverick Is my first truck or suv with awd instead of 4wd. Under what conditions should one disengage traction control? I wont really know how to use the awd systems without experimenting with them, but I’d like to know where to start.
A little compensation. I expected to pick up my truck the first week in January so I got quotes for my 2016 4Runner from CarMax and Carvana early that week. CarMax quoted $30,800 and Carvana was about the same. After I actually took possession of my Maverick on Saturday, I got updated quotes...
Took delivery of Lariat today from Leith Ford Wendell. No markup or add ins other than their standard ”documentation fee” around $500. Wanted to sell me an extended warranty like they all do. But didn’t insist. My replacement tank arrived early this week and the truck was ready to go yesterday...
My truck was supposed to be delivered during the first week of November. Tank arrived at dealership early this week and I took possession of the truck this am. Finally, after 3 months. And I did not learn the reason until after Christmas.
Replacement tank arrived early this week and I picked up my Lariat this am. Was initially supposed to be delivered the first week in November. So three months later… But I finally took possession. Obviously, replacement tanks are finally becoming available even if the quantity may be limited. I...
But why would it be on Lariat but not on other models? Since Ford says the Lariat has additional sound insulation, maybe it is there to thwart false advertising charges. Doesn’t have to actually do anything. They can argue that any insulation anywhere in the truck deadens sound to some extent...
This may be my all time favorite thread. The hilarious thing is that after all these comments, we still have no clue as to the purpose of the thing! And as someone said, there is a reason for it being there.
You cannot trust the Ford site or the NHTSA site. My truck still doesn’t show up on either site but is sitting at the dealership waiting on a replacement fuel tank.
