  1. Request - Disable / Reconfigure BMS

No. I stated there is a distribution block. The large ground runs from the batt neg post to the dist block out back, then from dist block to amps. same for power, except the power runs have fusing on them. Yes - it blew the 2 spade fuses on the amp itself. Power fuse is fine. Supercapacitor...
  2. Request - Disable / Reconfigure BMS

They do. The ground runs to each amps are within 2-3ft, tops. However, that distribution block gets its ground from a 12 foot (roughly) or so run up to the front battery. My thought is that the shorter run from the back (possibly at the child restraint bracket) would help in this situation...
  3. Request - Disable / Reconfigure BMS

I think for this to occur you need to have several drive cycles before the PCM side sorts itself out to constantly charge. This may be an option, as I am recalling now that all vehicles I have had needed either the BMS unplugged, or the alternator signal wires unplugged, to keep constant...
  4. Request - Disable / Reconfigure BMS

I'm thinking more and more that I should add in a ground to the body at the factory grounding point in the rear. Even though I have a stout ground running to the front, perhaps it is not doing me too many favors when it isn't combined with a second battery.
  5. Request - Disable / Reconfigure BMS

Thank you for the words of encouragement. Mine runs so hot I can't put my hand on it for... more than a few seconds. When it was 75-80 outside, I measured 165F on the heatsink. It occurred to me last night that, whenever I ran a power and ground (large gauge) from the battery back, I always...
  6. Request - Disable / Reconfigure BMS

EQ has been flattened in Forscan. There is a dedicated remote wire. The AP F8.9 bit automatically sets gains based on my speaker level inputs. I am an IT tech too - believe me, wires are the name of the game For grounding - right now, I have a 2 gauge OFC wire running both power and ground (2...
  7. Request - Disable / Reconfigure BMS

lower volts = more amps drawn to hit power targets. more amps = higher fuse amperage needed, or they will blow. This amp in particular is rated for 1kw at 1 ohm, at 14.4v, and is fused for 60a onboard. Those were what blew, to protect the board internally from the higher-than-expected amp draw...
  8. Request - Disable / Reconfigure BMS

The problem is that amplifiers do not last long when voltage fluctuates 2 and a half volts. Not only do they get hot, but when you're driving them as hard as you can (1 ohm impedance on a AP F1D), low voltage causes onboard fuses to blow, more heat at the amps than necessary, etc. I may try...
  9. Can the BMS be disabled in Forscan?

Hey Chris, Did you ever figure this out? I am seeing anywhere from 12.4-mid 14v, seemingly at the vehicle's discretion. Did you find a way to have stable charging voltage in the 14s? -tysonbisme
  10. Request - Disable / Reconfigure BMS

I don't know why there's people reading into the "audio" thing. My request is to have stable charging voltage. Audio or not. It just so happens that audio equipment prefers an input voltage that doesn't fluctuate 2 and a half volts, lol Hybrids are different - you likely read a typical...
  11. Request - Disable / Reconfigure BMS

All audison... i've done all of my cars over the past 5+ years with zero issue. It's not a wiring issue. This is how the BMS operates. 10v wouldn't even run a vehicle, much less an audio amplifier. Unless you like to get less than half the power it's rated at... lol
  12. Request - Disable / Reconfigure BMS

My apologies, it is an EcoBoost truck. Factory battery is an AGM on these.
  13. Request - Disable / Reconfigure BMS

To whomever does the good forscan stuff for all of us - I'd like a way to keep my charging voltage up and stable. Ranging from low 12v up to mid 14v+ isn't sitting well with my audio amplifiers or system... at all. I've already changed the setting for "state of charge" to 95%. It still sits at...
  14. Charging Voltage Variance(s)

Yeah, I'm seeing 13.6 pretty consistently while parked and at idle. Wish there was a way to pin it at 14.4-14.6 for audio equipment...
  15. Charging Voltage Variance(s)

Must be - "at idle" to me means running with engine on, no accessories, in park.
  16. Charging Voltage Variance(s)

Hi everyone! It occurred to me that I should look at the charging / battery voltages once I had my sound system installed in my 24' XLT ecoboost. I am seeing 13.6v at idle... is this normal? I have already changed the charge state to 95% in forscan and reset the BMS. My main question is: What is...
  17. 4x6 Rear Speaker Installation - .STL files included!

Heyo, The easiest way to do this is found here: https://hoelwiring.com/products/kicker-key500-1-plug-play-harness Make it easy on yourself and just replace the front door speakers, the tweeters, and the rear speakers. There are many "ford specific" kits that are plug and play, and the key...
  18. 4x6 Rear Speaker Installation - .STL files included!

I don't know how his fit in there with all of that depth honestly, but the plates i tried using are one of the only proper 4x6 plates on the market. "True" 4x6 speakers produce different sound that is not desirable vs a normal circular midbass driver. I also don't have the option of mounting...
