I got 22 lariat with the rvi brake shadow and have 1000 miles and dozen or so hook ups. Works great out of the box, no need to adjust any pressure. The only thing con with the system is that when I'm not towing it seems to drain battery, so I just pull the main fuse.

The 15min thing isn't a deal breaker but does detract a bit on flat tow attach/detach advantage. Still better than tow dolly though

That's a new one, don't remember hearing that before. Check the 'flat tow instructions' sticky at the top of this folder. That's where I learned a bunch. There's a nice checklist by BradnChristine that a lot of folks, including me, use. Might need to edit for the 2025

Well I never did neutral tow on tow dolly, I always thought being in park added a layer of roll off safety. As an experiment it might be interesting to see if that prevents all the codes, but I wouldn't do normally. The only thing I could think of if it really is the truck is that your 12v...

Having done a thousand or so miles of dolly towing, the codes don't surprise me, that's almost expected, and yes they clear immediately. However the brake smell is really troubling. Are you sure it's not the dolly brakes smoking? There was a thread about this and folks thinking it was...

well that sucks, not only is the AWD out for flat tow, but the whole lariat trim is out. Just frustrating. I know the flat tow as a percentage of use is low as comparted to the total sales of the truck. But obviously worth something or they wouldn't bother at all. Not to mention the reports...

I fished mine from battery along fender well and down passed the the PED, then along the baseplate.
