  1. My XL Side Mirror Upgrade (Spotter Glass)

I was going to add little stick-on mirrors from an auto parts store, but I've found in actual practice that just a quick look over my shoulder works fine. Having rear doors with big glass windows does the trick, so I find I won't need to even get those little stick-on mirrors. I find the stock...
  2. Took delivery of XL Hybrid - thoughts

I have taken delivery of my bare bones plus trailer hitch Velocity Blue XL Hybrid. It was ordered by me on June 15, 2021, the dealer placed the order with Ford on June 17, 2021, truck was built on May 23, 2022 and then shipped on May 25, 2022. It was delivered to the dealer (Montrose Ford...
  3. Maverick Price Increased as of 7/1

This is just like the '70s era of inflation, where it was common for automakers to have a June 1 or July 1 price increase, then another for beginning of the following model year, so they could say the price went up by only a relatively small amount. In fact, they just split the new model year...
  4. Patience is a fool. Never again.

Yup, totally agree. Maverick Hybrid is 0-60 in 7.6 seconds. 1965 Mustang K-code with 271 HP and 4-speed manual was the same at 7.6 seconds per Car and Driver and Motor Trend back in the day. That level of performance at 40 MPG with 2000 pound tow rating, braked OR unbraked trailer (my boat...
  5. Patience is a fool. Never again.

At $5.09/gallon in NE Ohio? My June order bare bones Hybrid shipped May 25, after being in production for almost a month. Supposedly shows up at dealer 6/29-7/5/2022. Can’t wait. EcoBoost only matches my current tow vehicle, a Volvo C70, so why bother? Hybrid only way to go. My Maverick Hybrid...
  6. Undecided, please help out.

Cruise control is an issue, but I’ve found I use it less and less as I get older. Now, I only use it if driving out west, which is very rare these days. So my bare bones XL will be just right at the right price. June order that finally shipped last week.
  7. Undecided, please help out.

Seems like a no brainer to me. Driving almost 3000 mi./mo., so about 35,000 miles a year, get a basic Maverick XL Hybrid. Will cut fuel cost almost in half. Order it on August 15 when the 2023 ordering opens. Will take a while to get it, but fuel savings per year will be huge.
  8. Finally!!! Ordered 8/31/21 Arrived in N.E. Ohio on 5/25/22. It was worth the wait.

I’ve seen two in Velocity Blue: one by Portage Lakes last October and a second one just last week a block from my house, so they are out there.
  9. Finally!!! Ordered 8/31/21 Arrived in N.E. Ohio on 5/25/22. It was worth the wait.

I’ve got an XL Hybrid coming in, same color, with just a trailer hitch. Shipped yesterday, ETA around July 1, plus or minus. So looking forward to it. I live in Barberton. Plan on adding beauty (wheel trim) rings, like on my 1973 Mustang. Ordered 6/17/2021, so yes, will be over a year, but it...
  10. ‘23 Ranger on the way.

I could be wrong but I think the Maverick will offer a PHEV version, like the PHEV Escape (which is FWD only) while offering an all-electric Ranger. We’ll see. Lots to come.
  11. Ford had conflicting emails for me...and more...

I'm pretty sure "Body Shop" means the unibody is getting assembled, which is the first assembly step. Drivetrains are also done in parallel on a different line, before coming together. It's moving.
  12. Ford had conflicting emails for me...and more...

I started checking the modules twice a day starting May 20. In my case, the watched pot finally boiled! Good Luck - not much longer now.
  13. Ford had conflicting emails for me...and more...

Mine was "In Production" from May 5 to May 23. Got the "Built" email yesterday morning, May 24, and the "Shipped" email this morning. May 25. It's a bare bones XL Hybrid with only a trailer hitch. Ordered on June 17, 2021. Expected delivery, per email, is June 29-July 5, 2022. So just over a...
  14. when do you get a vin number and who gives it to you

UPDATE: ā€œBuiltā€ email came this evening. Yay! Email said expected date range for dealer arrival was June 29-July 5, 2022. Over a year, but worth it.
  15. when do you get a vin number and who gives it to you

Same with me. Told me still in ā€œorder processingā€ when I got VIN on 4/1/2022. Scheduling email came later in April, scheduled for week of 5/9/2022. Status changed on 5/5/2022 to ā€œIn productionā€ and sticker available next day, all through the Ford tracking site at...
  16. when do you get a vin number and who gives it to you

When you call the Ford Customer Service number, if your VIN has been assigned, they will have it several weeks before you get an email about it from Ford. Try calling.
  17. How long ?

Ordered XL Hybrid with trailer hitch as only option on June 17, 2021. Got VIN on April 1, 2022. Status changed to ā€œIn productionā€ on May 5, 2022 and sticker posted May 6, 2022. As of today, May 23, 2022, still ā€œIn productionā€. Ordered from Montrose Ford, Fairlawn, OH. UPDATE: As of this...
  18. Ohio Roll Call

Mine started showing ā€œIn Productionā€ on May 5. Still not ā€œBuiltā€ yet. Modules have not been populated per tracker link on this site. I suspect it’s mostly built but waiting on one or more electronic modules and sitting in the desert until they finally arrive at the plant and get installed.šŸ™
  19. Hybrid towing experience

All 2022 Ford Mavericks include Trailer Sway Control. It's right on Page 272 of the Owner's Manual. The OP post notes that he has the standard Hybrid engine/drivetrain and the Trailer Sway Control information message did come on when the pop-up camper started to sway on the trip up and the...
  20. Ohio Roll Call

Me too. Been patiently waiting for my Maverick XL Hybrid, bare bones with only a trailer hitch, to be built. Went into production last Thursday, 5/5/2022, with a window sticker the following day. VIN assigned on 4/1/2022. Ordered on June 17, 2021 from Montrose Ford, Fairlawn, OH. Hope to...
