In 1981 I bought a 1978 F100 regular cab with an 8-ft bed and it was significantly larger than my Maverick in all dimensions. The 300 cubic inch straight 6 with the three-speed manual shifter was a good combo. I routinely got over 20 mpg on the highway and with one tank I got mid 20's on a trip...
That's definitely a factor. I'm almost always in (default) Normal mode. Since I enjoy the hybrid's instant low end (electric motor) torque I tend to take off quickly, then take it easy once up to speed.
For those who mentioned not needing AWD...with my FWD hybrid I have to watch how much gas I give it off the line or the front wheels tend to patch out. Guess it's related to the electric motor's instant torque off the line. My AWD Corolla Cross hybrid never patches out even though it has a few...
Surprised you bought a Tremor living in Florida, and are now thinking about a Bronco. Many years ago I lived in Fort Pierce for a short time and other than the occasional sandy road, there was nowhere really good to off-road that I saw. In fact to me most of the place is just a big swampy...
Exasperate and incite might be pushing the big word threshold for some of us...just sayin'. ;-)
Reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw years ago - "Eschew obfuscation"
That's the exact one I have (cost around $380 a few months ago) with a different name stuck on it. No adjustable side rails but no mods needed either. Works great.
Was with a friend years ago picking some yard supplies up in his 1984 Ranger. At first glance it looked like the stuff might not fit and the attendant at the loading area said something about not liking these new 'small' Ford trucks. My friend said, "I don't remember asking you to make any of...
That's why I'm trading mine in before 5 years/60k miles. By then there's a decent chance something new and exciting will be out anyway. The new owner of my truck can get an extended warranty on a lightly used Maverick and enjoy it for as long as they wish.
Never any extended warranties for me either as I've always been able to fix things myself fairly inexpensively. As mentioned in other replies though, vehicles have gotten so complex these days it's nearly impossible to troubleshoot, much less fix things that can go wrong.
For the first time...
Didn't cross shop either since I didn't see anything else that was interesting. I've had 11 pickups in past years, big and small from the Big 3 and Toyota. The Ridgeline is closer to midsize and the Santa Cruz looks more like an SUV with the back chopped off so (to me at least) the Maverick is...
Wow, that's steep! In April MSRP on my 2025 XLT Hybrid w/Co-pilot 360 was $31,885 at Stott's Ford in Tryon, NC, across the state line from me. Employee pricing brought it down to $30,378. Add admin fee of $299, sales tax capped at $500 (in SC) plus title fee of $39 and it was $31,216 out the...
Wouldn't mind Ford bringing back something like this in a hybrid or EV, say 500 HP, 300-400 mile range, 3-passenger bench seat. I'd be tempted to buy one.
Yeah, I'm not doing it but like all of us, the OP has to do something with his time and if it makes him happy to test it out, why not.
With that in mind, we know modern computer controlled engines will retard timing if it detects pre-detonation, aka - knocking, so there's no reason all engines...
Like many, I'm getting pretty tired of 'clickbait'. Not just forums but newsfeeds, YouTube, etc. You can often tell fairly quickly when the first segment reiterates the title, then gets repeated multiple times through the piece for maximum bloat (and minimal real content) hoping to keep you...
