There is a noticeable difference with Sport mode in hybrids and have found in my use of it that the engine runs all the time at higher rpm for quicker response. It also delays Ecoboost shifting to maintain higher rpm's.
Ford says it provides a sportier steering feel too and I've noticed that...
That seems low. No screen shots but in early Sep I took a circuitous 1400 mile highway trip running 65-75mph and averaged 35mpg. Wonder if it's your tires. I have the stock Continentals that came on my 2025 at 35-36psi. Some don't seem to like the Conti's much but they've been just fine for me.
A friend has a nephew that bought a new Subaru WRX with a manual 6-speed a few years ago. He's a younger guy with fast reflexes but still can't keep up with the CVT WRX's. By the time he's in 2nd gear the auto is already pulling away, staying in the sweet spot of it's max power band, and he...
Yes, If I'm not watching speed on an interstate near me I find I'm suddenly over 80 in a 70 mph zone. You just don't feel (or hear) it in a hybrid w/CVT like you do in an ICE w/shifting gears. My Corolla Cross hybrid is the same, so although I mostly prefer driving without CC I'm having to use...
Mine were rattling, clicking and even squeaking at times so sure, why not. Try popping it up partway (you can't get the grill all the way off without removing the A-pillar cover since there's a tab that hooks to it) to see if it changes. If it does then there's your answer.
Didn't buy the truck to win any beauty contests but I don't mind the newer front end at all. Form follows function in my book, it works fine, couldn't care less what others think about it.
Despite what they may have claimed I doubt the dealers did much (if anything at all) to solve the...
Sorry to hear about your T-bird, have heard similar stories from others. Manufacturers are only required to keep parts on hand for the warranty period but as mentioned above, a lot of parts will be available from various sources for some models (like the Escape) long after that.
That's only...
Good point. Contrary to popular belief, some parts for orphaned models can become increasingly difficult to get after only 2 to 3 years. Not sure how Ford is in this regard but sometimes aftermarket companies fill the gap.
At least you shipped over a decent vehicle. In the early 80's I brought a Chevette over (had recently bought it before getting orders). Couldn't keep up on the Autobahn so sold in within a couple months to a GI headed back to the states and bought only German cars there.
Yeah, TPMS is mainly a convenience here in SC, snow tires are totally unnecessary. Even all season tires are overkill for most winters here. When we do get snow or ice everything closes (except Waffle House) so no need to go out anyway.
Have always checked regularly so always add air before a...
Interesting, I'm still at v5.28 on my Pixel 8 Pro and that's the latest available on the Play Store. Even though they are calling it the 'Ford' app there, my phone still lists it as 'Ford Pass'. When I tap to open the Ford app it pulls up Ford Pass on my phone. Not that I care much, guess v6.0...
Political alignment is somewhat dependent on what your news feed(s) are. Other than mundane data like weather, traffic, stock market, etc, much is the 'news' we ingest each day is BS. Anytime someone tries to put their spin on a topic I tune out. Aren't you tired of being played?
Scientific...
Was out and about between several small towns and (although not for the first time) decided to take it easy for a change. This was in upstate SC and just across the state line into NC. Terrain was mostly gently rolling hills with a few steeper ones, speed limits 20-35mph in towns, and 45-55mph...
