Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the start/stop system shuts the engine down entirely. I thought it dropped down to only firing on 2 cylinders. If it shuts off entirely, you'll burn through starter motors very fast.
I am getting really impatient for it. I know they haven't even done the scheduling yet, but I even created an account on Ford's website to see if my order is tied to my email address. It doesn't look like it is. Does anyone know how to "link" an account on Ford's website with an order? Do I have...
I don't have the same plans as you, so I don't know the exact answer to this, but you'll want to look into which Mavericks can be flat-towed and which cannot. I've seen it come up a couple of times in this forum.
I agree with hating trim packages. I am a minimalist luddite. If I could opt for crank windows and manual door locks, I probably would. I prefer cloth or vinyl over leather or synthetic leather. But all of the features should be available. I went with the XL and there are three features that...
Manufacturers can't require that your use the dealerships for routine maintenance. They used to try to require that, the Magnussen Moss Act put a stop to that practice. The trouble is that they can still ask you to prove that the vehicle was maintained according to the maintenance schedule. And...
Depends on the vehicle. On an F-150 that Ford's been making for over half a century, I have more faith in their product. For a brand new model, the 3 year 36,000 mile Ford warranty isn't reassuring enough. Especially when you're talking about a soda bottle sized engine with 4,000 pounds tow rating.
There are other ways that dealers can sweeten the deal apart from selling it at a discount. The dealership i went to doesn't offer a discount, but they include a LIFETIME powertrain warranty at no additional charge. So it's MSRP plus any dealer installed options (I added window tint) plus a $199...
I'm also in the same boat. We have a 2011 Kia Forte (165,000 miles) and a 2103 Kia Sorento (117,000 miles). Both of them are great and have been very reliable. But we're ready to retire the Forte while the Sorento still has life in it. I need something a bit bigger and more capable, but it needs...
Don't you have to drill into the sheet metal of the roof to install roof racks? Wouldn't that void some of your warranty regarding the integrity of the roof and waterproofing? I really don't like the idea of buying a brand new truck for 25k and immediately drilling holes into it.
Yes, but if they are ordered as part of the truck, they (and their installation) are covered under the truck's warranty, rather than a separate warranty by an aftermarket company and an install warranty from the dealer (if you choose to have the dealer install it). Also, the people installing it...
Perhaps not, but not charging for updates kind of takes away the manufacturers' incentives to provide updates at all. Imagine buying a used pickup truck and the previous owner tells you that Ford no longer provides support for that model year or that the maps haven't been correct in quite some...
I just don't see the point in duplicating technology. Nearly everyone has a cell phone that already gets updates. With a cell phone, you get to choose if you WANT to run navigation or not and through which app. And many of those apps are updated LIVE to include traffic jams and speed traps. But...
It looks like a lot of people in this thread are confusing "Reserving a Maverick" with "Ordering a Maverick". As far as I can tell, all reserving does is let you local dealer know you might be interested in ordering one. Are people adding reserves to this list?
