  1. Hybrid engine performance question

There seems to be two barriers to speeding up the Maverick, as I, a non-specialist, see it. 1. Hybrids are very much computer dependent . Futzing around with components, speeding them up, will play havok with the computer, and messing with the computer is probably a one way ticket to warranty...
  2. Cheapest tonneau cover for Maverick?

Depends. There's models that use bolt clamps though - Just line up the rails and crank the nut down. No drilling.
  3. Cheapest tonneau cover for Maverick?

No. At the very least, I've seen hard trifolds where the tonneau had its own locking and opening mechanism.
  4. Possible real scheduling reason

But they aren't. You can go look at the Thursday emails to see that Ford is not only building a lot of different stuff across many trims, but when there is a production constraint its usually something that would increase profit, not reduce it. They're even building and scheduling cheap hybrids...
  5. Aftermarket vs Factory Tonneau Cover

If you're willing to install yourself and and confident in your ability to do so, probably worth doing it yourself. If you don't want to do it yourself, I suspect Ford's pricing isn't far off from what you'd have to pay someone else to handle this for you. I know there's a lot of people on here...
  6. Cheapest tonneau cover for Maverick?

Using the Maverick's customizable bed I'm sure you could work out a pretty cheap bed cover with a blue tarp and some nylon rope. That's 4.78 at Harbor Freight. 5 ft. 6'' x 7 ft. 6" All Purpose Weather Resistant Tarp (harborfreight.com) 1/4" x 50 ft. Poly Rope (harborfreight.com)...
  7. Possible real scheduling reason

Regarding margins (Which is in the article) and not the article's headline (Which has next to no chance of influencing Maverick production): The stuff they're putting into Mavericks cannot be converted for use in high-priced F-150s. One could actually make the argument that's why the Maverick...
  8. Truth about Hybrid Maverick orders - not delayed says Maverick team

Can you clarify if its pending EPA results or pending EPA testing?
  9. Hybrids delivery dates being removed and reverted to N/A (unscheduled)

As long as you're profitable who gives a shit if you run your business with scams and lies. That is modern capitalism I guess.
  10. Hybrids delivery dates being removed and reverted to N/A (unscheduled)

Like how to fake your emissions test and get fined millions of dollars when you get caught?
  11. Lack of Maverick Advertising

There's a lot of things about the Maverick that are hard to guess. Why can't they publish EPA numbers for the Hybrid? How much weight is on each metric that determines allocations? Will someone under 6' 7" be allowed near a Maverick? But simplistic marketing decisions? One may as well say...
  12. Lack of Maverick Advertising

Show me another car manufacturer that's advertising an unobtainable vehicle and I'll show you a non-direct sale reason for their campaign. For example, Ford's F-150 Lightning advertisements aren't just to show the truck, but to show the direction the company is going. Those ads operate more as...
  13. Lack of Maverick Advertising

Here's a question for you - What do you think an advertisement campaign for the Maverick would accomplish?
  14. 📬 10/7 Scheduling Email Received Group!

Adjustments to the schedule. Filling in a couple gaps, pushing back some dates that they were too optimistic about, stuff like that.
  15. What features are missing?

Yah, I'm not sure why people think they need an 'independent' GPS when Google Maps not only stores commonly driven in areas, but allows you to force it to locally store maps of places you want to go to at a later date. Losing cell reception has you losing some functionality (Traffic data for...
  16. Gun rack / storage [*** Storage Talk Only *** No Glorification, States, Laws, Permits, Politics or Usage Discussions]

I don't see why a rear window rack with generic (But seemingly hard to find) hardware wouldn't work. I doubt the more modern overhead racks would work though, as the Maverick has a molded ceiling that defies easy mounting points. I'm not sure rifle racks in trucks are really relevant anymore...
  17. First consumer hybrid delivery?

As far as I know, delivery of a vehicle in the US cannot happen until EPA ratings are reviewed and approved, which has not happened yet. Fingers crossed.
  18. Here are a few dealer responses

I haven't had anything pushed on me, but 95% of the frontline stock at the two nearest Ford dealers is old Chevys (Including the vehicles up on the stands), so they probably just don't have anything to push to begin with.
  19. Does the Maverick also have a typical lead-Acid battery

Both drive trains have a traditional car battery (The Hybrid's is under the rear seat). You can jump it if it dies. Yes, it will have to be replaced. Presumably you'll be able to reach the batteries 'death by time' state rather than the 'Death by overuse/misadventure' state that plagues some...
  20. WOW !!! Long McArthur Ford is only getting 20 Maverick Allocations this month

Ok, you got me. Priority is being done entirely by bedliner option. It's the only thing that matters. I'm sorry I've failed the my Ford Masters and revealed their secret plot to increase revenue by judging every production decision on how much spray-on rubber is in stock.
