I wasn’t saying you were. just stating that if people want to go another route than by all means. but this post was just simply to give some people some ideas and to help others if they decide to do the same. i appreciate it
the weight would also be greatly reduced by making the walls thinner. so you could factor that in but this thing is solid and doesn’t rattle or make a peep when driving over bumps.
for people who don’t have easy access to resources like a 3D printer would be better off searching for a trash can that fits and then getting someone to print off a FITS piece to attach it to.
I appreciate people’s input but if you think there’s a better way to do it then do it. I wanted a...
a ton of work for the printer*
literally only took us less than an hour of actual work including design and then its a “set it and forget it” machine, you remember the old tv ads ;)
I actually suggested this to my cousin but we thought since you’re going to be printing the trash can out anyway you don’t gain much by printing them separate. unless you were to use a store bought trash can then that would be an option as long as it fits
let me see what he can do. he needed to do some tweaking first to make it a little less hefty so hopefully he has it saved back.
I will get back to you with a file when he sends it 👍
man you’re committed! he has the paid version. but i’m sure he’d print one out for you if you don’t want to go so far as to buy a printer and learn the ins and outs of 3D printing. good luck buddy! 👍
a cup holder was actually the next design that my cousin and I wanted to work on. he's so quick with that 3d printer software that he literally took the measurements for this trash can and designed it with what I had in mind in less than an hour. it's a very useful program. once we get a...
My cousin is the one who is fluent with his 3D print program and printer. I just had the design in my head and he worked his magic. I could ask him if he has something saved back that he could share. it was about $13 worth of material but that’s because he made it a lot thicker than it needed to...
My cousin and I teamed up to design and create this trash can for my Maverick. It turned out really well! The only thing we both agreed we would change on the next one is to use a matte finish so that the layers do not show as much. Also, maybe make it less thick because it took quite a while to...
